The Lockdown of June 10th, 2005 This year was not a rather pleasant one Some kid tried to hang himself But in the end, luckilly, he didn't succeed And now just two weeks before schools out We're in lockdown For who knows what reason We have to stay at school an hour and a half after it ends Along with the hour of sixth period too Some people are scared Some think it's a joke And others don't know what to do Then after we get home and watch the news a bit We find out that some kid thinks it's cool To come to school and play a prank On everyone in it They say he brought a gun to school But it turns out it wasn't real He and three others make everyone Wait in wonder They bring in the SWAT teams to check All our classrooms We weren't even allowed to get our instruments If we had one We had to leave at exactly four o' four. That was probably the most scary thing that all of us will have to endure. And as I write this poem about what happened that day Four kids are laughing at what they did that day. That day was June 10th, 2005 That day will never be forgotten as we live our lives I bet all of us will remember that day When we were kept in silence for two and a half hours total I'm sure the news will never forget Friends weren't even allowed to say goodbye Or see ya next year. Yes we'll see each other on Monday But some kids will think about it Over and over throughout the weekend And maybe a few will cry
