I bet your art is awesome... I'm somewhat of an artist >.> Probably nothing compared to you, heh.
I always love to be around others' art. But I like it when they are willing to get an honest reaction from me. I enjoy honest reactions from others. I don't like it when people are expecting you to say their art is this way or that way. If you show me your work, or I show you mine, be it music, visual media, poetry, etc. I expect there to be an open transaction of thought going on. Artists (and I use that term loosely to mean anyone with any amount of skill) should always be willing to be improved by others. It is nice to hear, "that is a nice piece of work." But it's so much more satisfying when they say, "and here's what I don't like about it." Cuz none of us are perfect yet. So to sum it up, art of any kind is a competition, and those with the most talent win. But if someone with talent takes the time to critique another's work, they should listen and appreciate it (assuming it is a good critique). And those with the talent, by critiquing their peers, will advance the field of the artform in the right direction. Let's add some wine and cheese to this fancy entry. cheese_whine (origami_wolf is now laughing)
