Whee! I actually titled one. xD This is based off a quote. Yup, I get my inspiration from random places. Er.. Just fluff. It's short, and as I always think, not very good. Another one with a 'Lady or the Tiger?' ending. I love those types of endings so much~~ <3 And I'm not going to tell you how I perceived the ending. That completely defeats the purpose of writing the ending the way I did: to make you think. I'm trying to make you climb into the depths of my mind. Besides, I hate writing endings. On top of that, I believe I put enough clues (some are obvious, too) and a few literary devices to help you figure out the ending. ;D

Light blue eyes stared out into the streets of Konohagakure. It was such a beautiful day out, and she was trapped inside the family's flower shop. Numerous people had passed by the store without so much as a glance in it's direction. And Ino wasn't allowed to leave. Not even to train! What was so special about today? No one was setting foot in the shop anyway.
Allowing a sigh to escape her lips, the Yamanaka heiress picked up a bok that had been tossed to the side. The book was, of course, about flowers. She had read it at least a dozen times, yet it still grabbed her undivided attention everytime the book was opened.
Ino flipped open to a page randomly, beginning to read about the roses that were written about so eloquently. A good twenty minutes passed by until the bell above the door sounded. Someone had come in! Oh, it was about time. And luckily for Ino, it was Shikamaru. Better the customer was one of her friends than someone she didn't talk to. Before she could open her mouth, the lazy Nara asked her something.
"Could I have eleven red roses?"
The mind-walker blinked. It was strange enough that Shikamaru was in the flower shop. And now he was asking for eleven roses. Such a strange number. Normally, if a person wanted a decent amount of roses, they asked for a dozen. Maybe he had made a mistake.
"You mean twelve?"
"No. Eleven."
All the heiress could do was nod. Ino stepped out from behind the counter, turning. She went into the back, soon returning with Shikamaru's eleven roses. She handed them over, getting a handful of money in return.
"Are these for someone special?" Ino teased, even though she was genuinely curious.
"Kind of," Shikamaru replied nonchatantly a few moments later. Before Ino could reply, he waed, heading for the door. "Arigatou. Ja ne." [Thank you. Talk to you later.] WIth that, the Nara left.
Ino would have gone back to her book had it not been for her growing jealous. I bet they're for that sand wench. What did she do to deserve my Shika!? She thought silently to herself, growing even more jealous with each thought. Suddenly, Ino found herself wishing the flowers had been for her. Shaking the thoughts away, the blonde kunoichi went back to her reading..
About An Hour Later
The bell over the door made it's chime again. This time, Ino was watering the flowers. "Welcome to-- Shika?" She had turned, only to be filled with confusion. Why was Shikamaru back here?
The Nara took a couple steps forward. Now he was in front of Ino, staring into her eyes. He looked calm, but inside, he was as nervous as ever. After what seemed to be forever, Shikamaru handed Ino a onquet of red roses. Eleven of them were real, and one of them was made of plastic.
She put the water can down, taking the roses. This was what she had wanted. But that didn't change the fact that she was extremely confused. "I.. don't understand. Weren't these for Temari? And why is this one fake?" Ino spat out Temari's name, obviously not holding the sand-nin in very high regards.
Shimamaru simply shook his head. "No, they're for you." He told her, offering a small smile.
That's sweet. The mind-walker thought to herself. She returned the smile, a very rare thing for Ino to do. A smile coming from her was a once in a blue moon event. "You still didn't explain to me why one of them is fake." Ino pointed out, the smile melting away.
"Because I'll love you until the last one dies."
