I want to grow a lot this year but couldn't. I knew why but couldn't do a lot. It was the plot in my backyard. The soil was fetile but not fertile enough. I couldn't add compost because, I didn't make it right. So, I read every gardening book I can get to find my solution. I got an idea from a book and magazine I read to make my garden grow. A compost pile underground! Instead of adding kitchen waste in to the ground, I add everything into a dug up plot and use the sod as a lid. Everything, including the sod, will decompose into compost over the winter months. Then, when it's time, I just plant any transplants or seed in to the fertile soil. I'll have more than I can handle afterwards! I'm testing it right now in a homemade mini bio-dome!
