I will discuss the theory of religions
Religion Journal post #2 buddhism...
in this journal i will go into depth about the religion of buddhism...

According to the Webster's Dictionary, the definition of religion is as follows, "An organized system of beliefs, rites, and celebrations centered on a supernatural being power; belief pursued with devotion." Buddhism is not a religion because: First, the Buddha is not a 'supernatural being power'. The Buddha is simply a person who has reached Complete Understanding of the reality of life and the universe. Life refers to ourselves, and universe refers to our living environment. The Buddha taught that all beings possess the same ability within to reach Complete Understanding of themselves and their environment, and free themselves from all sufferings to attain utmost happiness. with this being said unlike christainty the idea of buddha is not at all god like but more on the aline of nature almost as the native americans relilgious beliefs in the western hemispere of north america and canada and so forth..

Well, I would not say religion must be centered on a supernatural being. This is a problematic subject though, so I'll agree with you in this case since buddhism is considered by many a philosophy or teaching rather than a religion.
Anyway, I'd say that any enlightened person is a "god" among insects.

See you around smile

Religion is for people who can't cope with life without lying to themselves
