Rant about People
For those who know me, you know I'm pretty open-minded. I don't really care what you are, or what you like, as long as you're kind and don't bash me or others for what we/I like, I'm cool. Some might say I'm pretty apathetic on what people do, as long as you aren't doing something stupid or hurting anyone, I don't care what you do. You want to drink, go ahead, just don't be stupid about it. You want to run away, cool. Just have a back-up plan for yourself. I'm open-minded, I'll listen to what you say and not judge you immediately, but there are just some people who say something so incredibly stupid/arrogant I want to kill them right there.

Okay, a 'friend' asked me what a book I was reading, The Quickening, was about. I told him it was about people who had magical blood (faeries, shapeshifters, witches, ect.) are trying to fight for their right to live against a former Nazi uber-Christian white supremacist who is starting up basically another Inquisition and Salem witch trials. He destroyed wiccan temples, gay bars, homes of people who were either witches, shapeshifters, dreamers, and other magical beings in human form. I told him mostly about how he set plastic explosive around a wiccan meeting house, called them from a pay phone, said they had fifteen minutes to get out, drove to a cliff, and just blew the entire place with all the people to smithereens. Now, usually, you'd say, "God, that's just horrible!" Cold-blooded genocide is pretty bad. But he said, "They deserved it!" and laughed.

Now, I may not be wiccan, but I respect their beliefs. Technically, I'm a Roman Catholic, but a horrible one since I own and use a deck of Tarot cards, believe some things cannot be explained by science or religion, and would like to learn more about the belief of Wicca. I didn't say anything aloud, but while I was trying not to literally rip out his throat, I was screaming in my mind, "You ignorant a*****e! What if I was wiccan?! What if I came to school with a pentagram necklace?! What if I was a Rom?! Would you kill me right here because I'm not just like you?!"

People have differences. No one has the same beliefs as you, no one will think exactly like you do. If they say they do, they're lying. You may have similar thoughts, but it's not the same as having the same mind. I let people be what they are and who they are, as long as they're not chopping up bodies, raping little babies, stealing bodies from graves, or anything extreme like that, I say let they do what they want. If two guys love each other, let them be. If someone believes that they can do magic, let them try. Encourage people to be who they are. But it's closed-minded people like him who deserve to die. They're the reason we can't move ahead as a civilization. If everyone let people live as they want to, as long as they don't do something stupid, we'd be a much better world. If no one is hurt, let everyone do what they want. It's not that hard to do, just leave them be. If you want to make a perfect world, stop. No world is perfect. No one will be just like everyone else, no one will want to be a clone, leave them be and you can have a good world. Not perfect, but good. It's a simple concept, but a good one.

I know, it seems simple, but take it at a few steps at a time. Talk to someone who you'd normally not talk to. Tomorrow, find someone in a different clique than you, talk, mingle, talk about interests. Although they may look different or like a few different things, you'll find you have a lot more in common with others than you'd think. Try it, watch what happens! Even if you never talk to that person again, or get their number and chat all night about stuff you like, just talk to someone new! It makes their day better, and makes you appreciate differences better. It's time the world learned how to accept some damn differences in people and move on with making the world better! It's more likely we'd start a nuclear holocaust than ruin the ozone, or global warming would kill us all, or the environment turns so shitty we can't live, so how about we start with making people learn and grow before we save a world we'd only end up destroying, okay?

I agree with almost everything you say here...only there's one slight problem. If all close minded people deserve to die...how is that any better than say...killing people because they believe in a different religion. Its their belief...albiet a stupid one...but its theirs nontheless. So in the end...you're killing (or talking about killing) someone, and the reason all boils down to one thing...their beliefs. There inlies the paradox does it not? I'm not trying to sound like a p***k here...just stating a fact. Other than making that person wanting to die...I agree with you. Just tell him he's an inbred dumbass and leave him be. Changing people is hard...changing their beliefs is damn near impossible.

Good lord hun, you sound like me. *scratches her ears* Thats my Unsu I guess.

I must say I agree with the ninja guy though. You're being just a little hypocritical when you say your should kill people for not being open minded. Its like youre saying because they aren't willing to accept your beliefs or ideas they should die because you don't agree with theirs...
