CHAPTER 1
THE BEGINNING
One day Shadow was bored on a beautiful day. So she asked her parents, Midnight and Winter, if she could go explore around the base of the mountain, they said, "as long as u come home before dark." So she packed a few snacks to take along and set off. Once she got to the base, she looked around and saw a whole bunch of flowers, she thought out loud, "I'm sure mom would like these very much." Shadow started picking them and then she wondered around a bit more. While she was exploring around she completely lost track of time. When she stopped to take a break she realized it was already dark. So she quickly got all her stuff together and ran up the mountain path back to the city Shagon as fast as she could go.
Once Shadow got up there, she stood there astonished. Before her there was destruction, the once beautiful village of Shagon was now destroyed. Buildings were demolished, lifeless bodies scattered the streets. Blood everywhere, and not a single living thing in sight. Shadow ran to where her house once stood, nothing but grief was waiting there for her. Shadow looked franticly around for her parents or something comforting, but still there was nothing. Something caght her eye, something shining. She went over to it and saw her mother's necklace lying on the ground. She picked up the necklace with tears building in her eyes. Shadow looked around for her parents but couldnt find them. She started to become very tired and gave up the search for her parent's bodies. Still holding her mother's necklace she decided to put it on as a momento of her parents.
Without anywhere to live, or anyone to watch over her Shadow thought she'd go out on an adveture to seek out answeres to Shagon's brutal destruction. As she made her way out of the village she took a last look at what used to be her beautiful home. Once she was out she didnt look back, she didnt want to see anymore for it was too sadening to no she would never see her parents or friends ever again.... And this will be the beggining of her adventure that will be filled with mystery, new friends, romance, new discoveries, and war...
