All I could think of was running. It was the same dream every night. Or.. nightmare, rather. The dark face on the clearly white mask... the man chased me down each empty, sullen hall. His face was scarred, and a white mask was above his dark face. In his hand was a flower. But from past experiences, I knew but one thing.

Every flower has thorns.

He continued rampaging towards me, and as I ran, my legs would begin to bleed more and more until finally.... I stop. Dead in my tracks, I stop. That cold sneer on his face, the piercing stare he always gives beneath those concealed eyes... it wakes me up. But not tonight.

Tonight was different. I looked up at his face, knowing the stare he gives me would knock me into conciousness, but it didn't. I felt a jolt, my heart suddenly filled with anger at this person, who dare hold that flower. My arms lashed at him, and removed the mask with a hard and loud snap! but it was not the man, or demon I was expecting it to be. It was a girl.

With a jolt, my body wakens from this nightmare, heart pounding, veins throbbing.

Why do these dreams come to me every night? I know why.
Because every flower has its thorns.
