As I came too I thought I was dreaming. Karo was staring down at me. I was still in the bloody sheets but he was there crying. He kept mumbling about how he should have protected me, that my uncle was going to have his head for letting me die. I don't know why he thought I was dead...Well, I thought I was going to die before I passed out, but obviously I wasn't dead. I started to speak but my mouth was parched. All that came out was little squeaks. Karo jumped from the sound...As I started to get my voice back I said was fine. At this he laughed. This I could understand I didn't look fine. As I sat up I looked around and everything seemed bright for there being no light. Karo said my husband had left the house over a day ago. He didn't believe he would return. My uncle had been the one to tell Karo of my death. My husband had already visited my family saying I had caught an illness from one of the servants. When Karo arrived I was still wrapped in the sheets but it was torn so that I was out from the shoulders up. Karo said he had to explain everything to me and asked me to tell him what I remembered before he did. Once my tail was done Karo confirmed my suspicions about me husband. After this he told me how I was when he arrived at my window. Karo emphasized that I was dead when he arrived. My neck was torn and bloodied. The knife was still beside me in the bed. Karo thought I was dead for good since my husband had not returned. At this I told him how I couldn't have been dead because I was alive now. He locked his gaze with mine and told me I wasn't alive. I tried to laugh, but in my soul I knew it was true. Then I just cried and cried about how I didn't understand.
