My husband did follow me that night. He came right to my room and demanded to come in. When I refused He walked through the door. You might say I am delusional but I swear he walked right through the door. As you probably guessed I was in hysterics by now. I was still in bed when this happened and did the stupidest thing. I hid under my covers. Now I look back on it and think I was an idiot. Hiding like some child pretend the monster can't see me because I am under the covers. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and yell at myself like people do in horror movies...You know the ones where the dumb girl decides to walk alone in the woods after all her friends have been killed...and you sit in the theater cussing her out for being so stupid. Then of course the monster jumps out and kills her. Well my monster killed me too. Well, sorta....What I remember is him jumping on top of me yelling and hitting me. It felt like he kept trying to bite me thru the sheet. I felt his teeth graze me and go in a couple of times. Then I felt the knife. It went in throught my back. At first I thought it just a muscle spasm from fighting him off. Then the pain blossomed...thats a funny word to use but it is right. The pain started in the one central spot near my shoulder blade. Then slowly petals began to open. One by one the petals unfolded and spread across my whole back. I tried to get out of the sheets I was cocooned in, but I trapped myself when I hid. I fought with the fabric to get out but no matter how I turned over or pulled I could not get them off me...then exhausted I just layed there...It was quiet. I don't remember my husband leaving but I had been in a panic so maybe he did or maybe he just stood back and watched the fight run out of me.
