Well... I played the first tournament game fo the season today and a lot of goood and bad thing happened... One of the (best) things was that we won! S owe're going on to the next game. We played really well in the first two innings defensively and our pitcher struck out the first three in the first innning and three after someone got a hit in the second. ( I loved her for that... catching in 90 degree weather is tough y'all.) We also did well offensively and one of my teamates hit a grand slam. I hit a single because the sassy catcher (who caught BADLY) said I wouldn't swing if it was a good pitch. ( I just love proving bad catchers wrong twisted )
The next innning... I'll be frank... were hell. We had to switch pitchers and the girl who went on the mound threw REALLY fast but couldn't throw accurately under pressure. If you ever feel bad for a pitcher who is throwing crazy... THINK OF THE CATCHER GOD DAMN YOU!!! WE'RE THE ONES WHO HAVE TO CATCH THE CRAZY PITCHES IN ROBO-ARMOR IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER!!! She walked 5 runs. We only got 3 runs because everyone was swinging at bad pitches or not swinging at all.
The inning after that was... even more hellish then the inning before that. The pitcher was a newb so... she walked 5 runs too. I also made a bad throw to the pitcher causing my first steal to occur in the game. ( I WAS TIRED!!!) When I (finally) got back to the dugout I really needed water... so I took a huge swing and ending up choking all of it (and more) back out. Thank God it was the last inning... or I would have died. ( My dad said he thought I was going to croak. crying )
After the game I found out I was going to be in the All Star game (yay me!) And I also hyperventilated for the first time. (Ummmm yay me?!) I ALSO found out that I wasn't supposed to be catching since i was one year older then the other players... sweatdrop (dumb rule... right?) BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO KNOW I'M OLDER!!!
