Today I saw 'Alien' and 'Silence of the Lambs' for the first time. This pleased me. I LOVE sci fi/horror films (I've got a weak spot for bad creature features, I don't think I've ever been quite as amused as I was during 'They Crawl'- a movie about evil cockroaches). Here's what I thought after my first encounters with these classics-
ALIEN-
Who the hell thinks this movie is scary?!?!? Possibly THE most overrated movie in history other than 'Close Encounters'. Sure, the alien is cool looking. Yes, the cat is cute and a hilarious death omen for anyone looking for it. But seriously, was that it? It gets sucked into space? IT WAS THAT FRIGGIN EASY?!?!?!? THE THING IS A SUPPOSED 'PERFECT ORGANISM' AND IT TAKES THE WOMAN A GOOD FIVE MINUTES WHILE IT'S SLEEPY TO KILL IT?!?!?!? stare .............*shakes her head and sighs*
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS-
While this movie isn't particularily scary, and a bit predictable, that Hannibal guy is one freaky son of a b***h. He made the whole movie worth it, like how Pennywise made IT one of the scariest movies ever made. Without him, the movie dies. Congrats Dr. Lector, you have my utmost respect and admiration for breathing life into a fairly mundane film. *insert applause*
