~~~Episode Sixteen~~~
It was silent within the castle tunnel, the solid ice door standing strong. Suddenly, there was a muffled shout from the other side of the door. For a moment, the silence continued until a sizzling sound came through. Flames ate through the ice door, bursting through onto the other side. Yuri hopped through, a look of achievement in her smile. Zeph and Haku followed, Zeph staring at what she had done.
"Geez...thats amazing..." he said. Haku turned, "I can see why its a forbidden element. On this world, everything is pretty much frozen solid." he said. Zeph took the lead once more,
"All right, we've got to get into the main part of the castle before a guard sees this." he said.
Yuri and Haku nodded, following him quickly as he took off down the tunnel.
Deeper within the castle, a figure stood, its details covered by darkness.
"Your highness, our guests have arrived." the figure said. The king sat in a large throne, rubies and sapphires the size of a fist adorned into the chair.
"Right. Go greet them Giox." the king said. Giox's smile could be seen in the shadow,
"As you wish your highness."
Zeph and Haku struggled to push open a large stone door, and it finally opened enough for them to squeeze through. Yuri went first, followed closely by Haku and Zeph. All three stood in awe as they stood in the castle. Marble floors sparkled, and enourmous jewels were embedded in picture frames, curtains, and chandeliers that hung above, burning with a white light.
"Electricity? I didn't think this world had electricity." Yuri said as she looked at the chandelier. Zeph blinked, "We dont! We all use ice magic to light the tunnels!" he said. Haku shook his head,
"Typical. The peasants live in the stone age while the castle gets the best life can offer." he said. Zeph shook his head,
"This place is amazing...its like I've stepped into another world." he said
Yuri nodded,
"I know what you mean." she said.
There was a deep growl, and they looked down the hall to see Dark Beasts step out.
"What?! You've got to be kidding me, they're in the castle too!" Haku said, pulling out his katana.
Zeph suddenly tensed, "Wait! Its a distraction!" he said. He went to jump back, but to late. A light blue substance shot up from the ground around them, incasing each of them into a large, clear orb. Haku glared, slashing at the wall of the orb angrily. His yells were totally silenced. Zeph cracked his whip, lashing it against the orb, but nothing happened. Yuri looked ahead as the Dark Beasts stepped aside, letting a single figure walk forward. The figure was thin, and covered in a black cloak. Haku tensed, glaring. He said something, but was unheard.
Zeph said something as well, and Yuri could only guess that he said 'Giox'. She looked at Giox, surprised at how small he was. He was only a little taller than herself, and was pretty thin.
"Wow, that was easy." Giox said. They blinked, surprised that they could hear him, but what mainly stunned them was his voice.
"Wait a sec..." Yuri said to herself. Giox pulled down his hood, and Zeph and Haku stared. Giox wasn't a man, he was a woman! She smiled, her piercing yellow eyes matching those of the Dark Beasts. She had jet black hair that was pulled back into two, tacky ponytails, and a white mask covered the left side of her face. The mask had a drawn mouth full of sharp teeth and red markings all over. Giox laughed a little,
"You two look pretty surprised. I know, I'm drop dead gorgeous." she said, flicking one of her ponytails. Haku regained his glare, slashing at the orb once more. Giox laughed annoyingly,
"Good luck. Thats pure ice, no way any of you can break free."
Yuri narrowed her eyes, she hated this woman already.
Zeph suddenly looked over at Yuri, mouthing something. Yuri nodded, stepping back a little. She smiled, holding her hands out in front of her.
Zeph and Haku turned as Yuri shouted something, her voice silenced, but her actions speaking for her. Giox screamed in shock as flames ate through Yuri's prison and Yuri jumped down, glaring.
"Your really annoying." Yuri snapped, flames still dancing around her fingers.
Giox narrowed her eyes, her smile darkening.
"You stupid little girl. Get her my pets." she said, snapping her fingers. Yuri tensed as the Dark Beasts charged, their claws scratching against the marble flooring.
"Firdaga!" Yuri yelled, sending streams of fire screaming across the ground towards the heartless. They shrieked in pain as the fire ate through them with ease, and Yuri quickly turned and ran to free Haku and Zeph, who were impatiently pounding against thier ice prisons.
"I dont think so." Giox said, glaring. Ice suddenly shot up from the ground, jagged into razor sharp spikes. Yuri cried out as she was cut across the back, then the face, right above her left eye. Pain laced her body as she kept running, leaping to the side to avoid being cut again. She could feel blood seeping through the back of her shirt, and blood dripped down her face.
"Firaga!" she yelled, blasting Haku and Zeph's orbs with the flames. They leapt out, glad to be free. Another spike of ice surfaced, and Yuri shouted as it knocked her back. Haku landed, and lashed out, cutting a spike in half before it even touched him.
"Yuri!" he shouted. Giox laughed coldly, "Worry about yourselves you boys." she said. More spikes began to stab at them, cutting Zeph and Haku numerous times. Haku rolled forward, narrowly dodging yet another ice spike. Yuri stood, blood soaking her shirt. Her goggles had been broken from the hit she had taken, and she tossed the useless things to the ground. A spike zoomed at her, and she glared, anger and pain pulsing through her.
"Firdaga!" she yelled, scorching it and many of the other spikes and melting them instantly. She stood, wiping blood away from her face. Giox stood, smiling,
"Lets play kiddies." she teased, a blue glow surrounding her hands.
