Updates on Runic and more Art
Okay, I bet most of you people were getting tired of seeing the random binary from april first whenever you decided to look into my journal and such. Not that anyone would really like to look into my journal, mind you. I bet I'm going to be the only one reading this for a while. So I guess I'm sorta talking to myself. Well, that's fine. I do that all the time anyway. XD

Okay, so those of you who don't really know me well, I'm saphiremomo. Most people call me Saphire, though. It's nice 'n short 'n.... What? Oh, about the spelling. Yes, it is with one 'p'. It's kinda become my trademark. However, my art shop is with 2 'p's, got it? I think it's kinda silly when people call Ashy's and my art shop Ashes of Saphire. I don't want to seem too egotistical, after all.

Anyway, here on Gaia I am a little-known artist who pretty much lurks and hangs out in her friend's threads. I lurk mostly in the GCD and SF, though a few times I go into the Artist's and Writer's Forum and the Picture Post.

Wait, you aren't here for a personal update? Or are you. If you're interested in that sort of stuf, keep on reading. However, the info on my story and art won't come for a paragraph or two. Sorry if you were really looking forward to that.

Well, I finally finished with my sophmore year in high school, and am very happy for that, too. Junior year allows many more classes. I'll hopefully be getting into Human Anatomy and Intermediate and Advanced Art. I'll have the same teacher I had this year. Other than that, nothing much else had happened. I hope to be working at my dad's office, but that's a little iffy. They aren't getting the customers they were hoping for this year. If I do start working, you'll probably see my online less.

Okay, that's it for the personal update. I'm a boring person anyway. XD

Okay, so, I've finally started writing the third chapter of Runic. I'm on the third page, and nothing's really happened yet. Lomadia escaped from the manor safely and with the dragon. She went home and named the dragon. And those two sentences just summed up two pages of work. Sad, huh? So, what'll happen next, I wonder? I figure that Marek won't let her off so easily. Komaj knows it was Lomadia, so he'll report to Marek and Marek will probably try to get her executed or fined or something, though it will most likely fail. Komaj has never been the best CSI, you know.

Lomadia will go home, most likely, but Marek will send Komaj after her. Komaj will pose as a suitor in order to get some info from her. Lomadia hates him at first, because she doesn't want to be betrayed like her first suitor did, but grows to like him. Fulio never really likes him, though, and grows suspicious of his intentions. His suspitions are concerned when he sees Komaj secretly report to Marek.

Fulio warns Lomadia, but since she doesn't really like him that much, she goes in the opposite direction and trusts Komaj more, and eventually shows the dragon to him. That night, Komaj steals the dragon and runs off. However, he is now thinking entirely of his own means now, and doesn't return to Marek. But Komaj isn't that knowledgable of dragons, and doesn't know that the dragon and Lomadia have already forged a link. And the dragon asks Lomadia to help him (cuz he's all little and all that), and Lomadia rushes off.

Okay, now for a little bit of backtracking, because I'm all disorganized like that and such. While Lomadia and Komaj are courting, Fulio has discovered he has magic. He confides in Gran, Lomadia's grandmother, who is the only person he really trusts. She helps him strenghten his power, even though his element is darkness. Gran believes that he will be great help to Lomadia someday. And she's right.

Fulio also follows after Komaj, because even though Lomadia hasn't been that nice to him, he doesn't want her to get hurt again. Oh, what a sweet brother he is, isn't he? He's quiet and observant, and saw that even though Lomadia hated her former suitor, his leaving her hurt her terribly. He doesn't want that to happen to his sister. Maybe there's some past in that as well.

So, as Komaj is leaving the province, Fulio intercept him. As well as a band of bandits that have been haunting the forest they are now in. Their leader is Pacifist, and they are the same people who killed Lomadia's mother, Callin, and Lomadia's former suitor. So, Lomadia runs in on a pretty much huge battle sort of thing. Okay, it isn't a Lord-of-the-Rings-esc battle, but it's certainly not a civilized battle. Basically a band of maybe 8 to 10 men, Fulio (with his dark magic), and Komaj (who is trying to keep the dragon egg away from everyone).

Lomadia (who has shown off her powers once before in the second chapter) creates a huge light burst that pretty much blinds everyone except Fulio, yells at Komaj, and takes back her dragon. Komaj (who knows when it's best to flee), runs away, never to be seen again. All of Pacifist's men are pretty much knocked out by Lomadia's light blast, so Lomadia and Fulio start to leave, until an arrow hits Fulio.

Pacifist wasn't affected by the blast, either, and jumps out of the trees with a bow and another arrow. She tells Lomadia to give her the dragon. Oh, yes, I didn't mention that, did I? Pacifist is female. Anyway, while Pacifist is talking and waiting for a respose, Lomadia had her dragon find a way to connect with Fulio's mind for a little bit, and they organize a spell - Lumen Obscurum, or Dark Light, a power that Lomadia used in a former background. Basically it makes the person implode into little black sparkles. Pretty, isn't it?

Somehow Lomadia and Fulio are able to get back to her manor, where he is healed, and Lomadia is able to rest. That spell takes a lot of juice, you know? Okay, now later on, the duke discovers some of his wife's belongings, and finds a blank sheet of parchment in it, except that in the corner it says, give to my daughter, or something to that effect. Lomadia recieves it, but to her it isn't blank. There's a roughly drawn map on the parchment, a map leading to the legendary Dragon Raiders training grounds.

Without any notice or long fairwells, Lomadia packs up a few items and leaves, off to a new adventure.

So, that's pretty much it. If I find out anyone stole this idea, I will rip out your throat, you hear? So don't do anything so stupid.

Wanting art instead of stories? Go to my Deviantart page. I recently updated it with some new art. :3
