There are a few things that annoy me while I'm RP-ing.


Slow responses.

Like...I post, and you're online and two hours later you choke out one sentence. That's just stupid. Unless I didn't give you jack s**t to work with.


No posting for more than a whole day, and no leave of absence is announced.

I can see you online over the course of a few days and you just don't post. At all. No activity what-so-freaking ever. THIS IS EVEN WORSE WHEN YOU LEAVE MY CHARACTER IN LIMBO. This has happened countless times and I wish I had the nerve to do this to somebody. If you're busy, you shouldn't ******** be on Gaia with people waiting on you. Some people take RP-ing seriously as a hobby, and I'm one of those people.


Being in a "Lit" RP with people who refuse to use caps or punctuation and/or don't even make an attempt at spelling things out correctly.

If I can't tell what the hell your character is saying, it's not my fault. Unless it's SUPPOSED to be something cryptic and mysterious. If it's not...um. Sorry. No go. Also, please use punctuation to some extent. And lack of capitalization irks me, as well as many a (semi)Lit RP-er. It makes it look like you just don't give a s**t about what you're writing and just want your little character to go along for the ride.

Another reason to get Firefox: IT HAS A SPELL-CHECKER IN THE TEXT BOXES.


Weakling posts -fume!-

I can post three paragraphs to meet the standard and another character chokes out two sentences that doesn't even fit a line requirement. That annoys the ever-loving crap out of me. If someone makes a decent attempt at a post (and I try, but sometimes do not succeed), it will be effective, even if it ends up only being two sentences.

"Mary got up from her chair. She looked around."

Um. No go.


Fifteen-second hook-ups.

Why is it that whoever meets up with the male character first in an RP forces their "feelings" on the other within the first like...five pages of the RP? A real relationship takes a while. Now, if your character was a pre-made that is SUPPOSED to be with another character- or if the character has a history with the other character...That's not nearly as bad. Otherwise...

That just sucks.

It makes no sense and it's stupid. I've never done that in my life. I'm all for it, unless I'm with a friend in that RP and they say "OH!!! I WANT TO PUT THEM TOGETHER!" and I actually agree. So far, that's only happened once in my four years RP-ing.


Wishy-washy RP-ers

"Meh. Today I don't feel like posting. So what if they're all online and waiting on me to post. I'm all-important and don't give a s**t."
Uh. Yeah. EW. I hate that with a ******** fiery passion. If you're on and off...on and off...on and off....throughout the entire day with no specific schedule or pattern, that annoys me. But there's nothing that can be done about it. Some people just don't have the time. But when they DO go online for a long period of time (2+ hrs), and they don't post or ignore you entirely....? ******** that s**t, man. That's inconsiderate and rude. You need someone to shoot you in the face.
