...I've been really busy (especially April) lately, so I didn't get to write much. The band trip to NYC was ok (my bus was the party bus!), all-state was beyond amazing (I reconnected w/so many people from SYMS, the other two all-states, and other places,) and the Williamsburg Trip was the best music dept. trip I have EVER been on (and that counts going to the mall in between the elementary school visits in middle school jazz band!) That was what I was going to write if I had time...now for May! biggrin
I have a GMYSO concert today (for those of you who just went "whaaa?" GMYSO is a local orchestra that I play clarinet in,) and we're playing some pretty cool music. I don't quite know the order, but we're playing "New World Symphony," the first movement of a violin concerto by Bruch, and a medley of pieces by Henry Mancini (Pink Panther composer.)
I'm not sure if it's me, but every movement titled "Scherzo" is amazing in my book! Third movement of "NWS," first movement of "A Moorside Suite" by Holst, it convinces me that if I were to write a piece of complete musical crap but still named the movement "Scherzo," that everyone would love it mrgreen (by the way, I had to Google the majority of composers/musical terms in the last two paragraphs because I have horrible spelling whee )
As for my life aside from music...um...no, wait, I have no life besides music, I'm sorry folks sweatdrop But SYMS is in 71 days!!!! heart
Until next time!
