Mist hovered above the soft dewed blankets of grass, The two suns, Ossban and Spikness, edged the horizon. The air tasted of cool rain water and mint. Ayuu gazed out her window, watching the suns gently ease into the morning sky. Her room smelt of strawberries and a slight mix of the same mint smell as outside.
Ayuu looked at her baby Cresentdragon, Gale, laying sprawled out on the bed, snoozing quietly. “ I wonder when he’ll wake up,” Ayuu was talking to herself, “ Hopefully soon. While I‘m waiting for him, I‘ll go visit mommy.” Ayuu yawned and got off her knees, her black pants gently slid and kissed the floor. Her cat ears and tail flicked back and forth. She tip-toed out of the room and started down the silent hallway.
Soon she arrived at a large door with a young man standing guard. He was tall and lean with the same cat ears and tail as Ayuu, only his were black so they blended with his short black hair. “ Tim, is Ray awake?” “ Aye Ayuu,” His red wings flexed, “ Would you like to go in?” “ Yes, please.” Tim pushed the door open for her, moving sideways as she trotted by. After she entered, Tim shut the door and returned to his duty.
“ Mom? Are you here?” Ayuu glanced around, her eyes quickly landed on Ray. “ Aye Ayuu.” Ray had a red and gold crown with golden laurels embracing the edges. The red cloak she wore fell to the floor, a small hole cut for her tail to poke through, her crown also had holes for her cat ears. “Did you sleep ok mom?” Ayuu gently hugged the ruler. “ Indeed, I did. I heard you were attacked last night while exploring Ellikor.” Ray wrapped her arms around Ayuu. “ Yah, some demon. I believe a vampire. I was walking around minding my own business. The man stepped out of the shadows and flicked out a knife. He stated ‘your going to get it’, but before he could attack something came after him. I have no idea what. It was just a giant black blur. He ran into the Grenn forest. I don’t even know the guy and he wanted to chop my head off!” Ayuu wined, “ Ellikor never had people like this before the demon lands started spreading.” “I know. The evil is creeping in like fog over a bay.” Gale hopped in Ayuu’s arms, greeting her with a nuzzle. “ At this rate the zombies and demons will come for us. They want to rid this world of holiness. Sure, it takes a lot to kill one of our angelic soldiers, but demons are twice as hard to kill. If they were to succeed the whole planet would become connected with the underworld. That happen, the survivors of our people would kill their families and then themselves.” Ray wined at the thought. Ayuu nervously stroked Gale, Gale made small purring sounds. “ We’ll think of something to get the holiness back mom.” Ayuu tried to make the problem seem a little better. “ I’ll try to think of something. As for now, go eat.” Ray kissed Ayuu’s forehead and sent her out.
Ayuu sat eating her breakfast, a pile of scrambled eggs and some ham. Gale munched happily on his cooked fish. The whole cafeteria buzzed from the chatting Ellikoreans all sitting and eating happily. The room mostly smelt of sausage and eggs with a hint of syrup. “ You sleep to much, Gale.” Ayuu finished her food. Gale ignored her comment and gnawed on the fish bones, his purple wings flexing. Gale was snow white and had purple tuffs on his ears and tail, he also had short, scrawny limbs. “Gale? You done?” Ayuu was preparing to return the plate. Gale nudged the plate to her but held the skeleton firmly in his mouth. Ayuu sighed and returned the plates. “Bath time Gale” Ayuu noted while picking him up. Gale looked at her, his violet eyes wide with fear.
Ayuu had gale locked in the bathroom as she started a hot bath. Gale hid in the corner, quivering with fear. Soon, Ayuu shut the water off, “ Come on, don’t make this harder than it needs to be.” Ayuu reached for him, he shot into the air like a bullet. “ Gale!! Come on! It’s just a bath!” Ayuu chased him around the small bathroom, “ Just get in the tub!” Gale refused, every time he was backed into a corner he’d shoot either under or above Ayuu. Finally, Ayuu caught Gale and put him in the tub. Gale wined as the water dug through his fur and gripped his skin. Ayuu cleaned him thoroughly for about ten minutes. The smell of bubble soap and shampoo stained the air. Then she drained the dirty water and blow-dried him. Gale was still except his fur, his fur poofed out making him look five times his size. His eyes and paws were the only things visible beneath the fuzz. Ayuu giggled and brushed him, “After this we’ll see if mom has come up with something.”
