"Figures it would be another dragoon who follows me."Transforming into her human form, n** grinned ever so slightly. Although he had not yet seen her tiger form, Taran did not appear surprised about n**'s ability to transform into another creature.
As Taran spoke to Lofwyr, n** thought to herself,
How is it that I was not able to sense his dragoon status? He is different than other dragoons--but how so?"They took Nogard?" Lofwyr asked when Taran told him about the attack. Quietly, he said, "Neither Rhonabwy nor Thermail will be happy about this..."What do either of them have to do with the Renstok attack? n** thought.
After Taran asked permission to go after the Renstok, Lofwyr looked at him and n**. After a moment or two, he said, "No. Lady Dragon and the others on this ship will be going after Nogard. I wish that you and Sai Niphaphone go after someone else."Lifting an eyebrow, n** said, "If I may, milord, who?"
Looking at n**, Lofwyr asked, "You know of Dragon's genealogy as well as that of her remaining living kin, aye?"Not wanting to give anything away to Taran--for Dragon's sake--n** replied, "Aye."
"And you know of the prophecy?""About as much as you and the others do."
"Good. Then, if the Renstok captured Nogard because she was someone that was 'once evil and now good' ... who do you know that is an 'innocent that has not yet shed blood' that is of Dragon's lineage?""Xink," n** replied after a moment of thought. "He has lived on this ship since he was first hatched and has never had to fight any real battles."
Nodding, Lofwyr said, "Correct. The Renstok are planning on bringing one of their gods into this plane of existence but to do so, they have to have an innocent kill one who was once evil and now good."From the locked bay door, Shalimar yelled, "n**! Open up!"
"You must go now and rescue the hatchling," Lofwyr said. "I will do my best to distract Rhonabwy, Thermail, and Masaru from this news."
