Hi! Yes I do not like rainy weather either. Yo uknow you should get one of those light boxes. I had one when I live in England and it really helped. Yes I am on the Big Island but I like Oahu too, especially the beaches! Did you go to them a lot? Have you been to the Big Island?

I am from Fllorida too and live in Hawaii now...but in a very cold part of Hawaii in the mountains unfortunately. I like it here but miss being near the ocean. Where in Flroida do you live? I am from Miami. Sun is really good for a person's health I think!

You are making me want to go back on a trip to the UK too..but not in winter (-: Aloha!

Hi!

I know exactly what you mean. I am a tropical type od person too and I never got used to the cold in England. Still its a trade off because there are very nice things about it apart from the weather. Definiltey being a good coat and a hat and walking shoes...and maybe an umbrella! Do you live in a warm place? There are wonderful sites to walk to...Minister Lovell, the White Horse, etc. I've always wanted to walk Hadrians Wall.

The British Musuem is great but not so much like the Smithsonian. I suppose the natural history museum is more of a counterpart to the Smithsonian but not as big. The British Museum is more archaeological than anthropology and pure science orientated. There are wonderful Near Eastern and ancient Greek artifacts, like the Elgin Marbles, and also bog people etc. but there are even better bog people in Denmark. Its definiltey worth a visit!

I'd love to go back to Ireland! I've not been to the west coast yet and that is supposed to be beautiful.

Sounds like you have seen a lot of London in just a few days! (-: I hope you can go back. I have always wanted to go to the Greenwich Prime Meridian too. I think a person can go by river boat from Oxford which has always seemed a fun way. When I went to London, I spent most of my time in the British Museum because I was doing some research there. The double decker buses used to be terrible because there was so much cigarette smoke that a person could not breathe but now they are great. There are a lot of beautiful stately homes in Britian with particualrly nice gardens..some of them very old. The archaeological sites are great too...I think Avebury might be the best of all that I have seen but there are many good ones. Wales is beautiful and much of it is by the sea but it can be very very cold. The language is interesting. Cornwall is by the sea too with giant tides and cliffs and is very atmospheric. Scotland is ever so much prettier than England but again, very cold (-:. Its on a different plate that used to be back of Scandinavia and crashed into England ages ago and that is why the terrain is so different with hills and waterfalls and lakes etc. All of these places are great to visit! I just went to ireland for the first time recently and to the Outer hebrides and I really liked them.

I'd also like to go to Greenwich. To see the prime meridian line. And the thing is, I've actually been to London before. But only for two days. I really want to go back. I was fortunate enough to get to ride the London Eye, which was very cool. I visited the Windsor Castle, Tower of London, oh! and I remember seeing the crazy traffic light tree. I've always wanted to ride a double decker bus, too. I dont know all that much about the other places in the UK, but Wales looks cool. I wouldn't mind going there.

Hi, I lived n England for nine years and it is an interesting place. I was at Oxford not in London but I did go to London although not as often as I would have liked. Where else do you want to visit in the UK?
