gawsh, i hate bitter medicine, especially the adult ones that you get from pharmacies xP yuckyuckyuck... that's why i prefer pills... & this is how i swallow 'em:

1] tilt your head back & have a water bottle or cup of water in your hand
2] put a lot of water in your mouth but not too much that you can't close your mouth
3] keep your head tilted back & drop the pill in
4] close your mouth
5] wait a little before swallowing using your tongue or whatever to get the pill near the back of your mouth near your throat
6] swallow
*don't wait too long or else you might gag & taste the pill cuz it's dissolving in the water

if the pill is small, it should work. if it's big or medium-ish, cut it in half or fourths if you have to & swallow them separately even if it takes a lot of water.
works for me! : D
