Festival Week celebrates the days in which the goddess Rosetta gave the universe what it needed to fully exist. ((As a man of faith, I follow the teachings. As a man of science, seven days is bull.)) Each day, Rosettist celebrate a different thing, in a different way. It's called Festival Week because we're suppose to hold a big week long festival at one place. But due to limited funds, and only 12 members remaining, such a thing isn't gonna happen for some long time. Anyways, it all starts on the first of November, and ends on the seventh, going in this order: Day of Fire, Day of Earth, Day of Water, Day of Wind, day of Light, Day of Darkness, Day of Life. Each day we do something different.
On the Day of Fire, we not only give thanks to when she gave the universe fire, but also to the Impellow Gora((Infernal Hoard)), the armies of Deslacova((Damnation. The Rosettist hell.)). First we paint our arms red, to honor the Gora, whom are all red. Then we serve a meaty stew, as we have a 10 foot tall 4 foot wide tower of wood on fire! Then, the Seers((Archbishops)) and a volunteer((if needed)) do part one of a 7 part play!
On the Day of Earth, were we honor the day the goddess gave the universe stone, soil, etc. We have a feast of gain and vegetables, then everyone in attendance plants a tree, or digs the hole for a tree to be planted! Then we do a stomp dance, then comes part two of the play.
On the Day of Water, we give tribute to when the goddess gave the universe water. Here we water the trees that were planted. Then everyone takes turns passing out drinks. First we drink one cup of water, then we throw water into the air and shout "Vir you swa!" Which means, Here you go! Then we give a cup of water to another person. 1 to drink, 1 to throw, 1 to give. Basically the Rosettist holy number, 111. Then comes part 3 of the play.
On the Day of Wind, we pay tribute to when the goddess gave the universe wind. This is also kind of our valentines day. On this day, you give a pin wheel to the person you're in love with, and a small bag of sweets to the person you just like. Then, at 1:11PM or 11:11PM, the couples raise their pinwheels in one hand together, and if it spins, the two will be blessed with joy for the next 3 days. Those that get a bag of candy will gain luck for the rest of the festival week. And at some point, part 4 of the play is done.
On the Day of Light, we dress in white clothes, and gather for a dance. We dance only in the day time, when the sun is out. As the sun rises, we all say, "Welcome, welcome, rays of light! Tonight's today, as color fills the realm!" Afterwards is when we gather for the party. We dance around a large white ball, which represents the orb of light the goddess put into the universe when it was as small a child's ball. Then comes part 5 of he play, which is timed to the setting of the sun.
On the Day of Darkness, we honor the day the goddess gave us the night, and all it's wonders. We dress in black and do nothing until the sun begins to set. As it sets, we paint the large white ball black, but leave some spots white. Then we put a candle in it to the white spots will look like stars! Then we all sit around the ball and hold our hands out to it, as one would do with a fire when their hands are cold. Then we sing, "Sleeping rays, and falling sun. Blackening skies and shining stars. We welcome your arrival, and bask in your chill. Night is a time of joy, where all may find inner piece." At which point, everyone closes their eyes, and whispers for the goddess to forgive them. No details for what they've done are said, for the goddess already knows. Afterwards, everyone stands and lets out 3 crow caws, to give honor to the Kale Stahaa((Crow Knight. Stahaa mean both Knight and Night)), who watches over Gerra yu Luna, the Land of Sleep. Which i where everyone goes for 2.5 years((the time between two blue moons)) after they die before they are, A: Sent to Deslacova, B: Sent to Pyralore((paradise)), or reincarnated. Then part 6 of the play is performed. Then everyone gets sleep for the next, and last day of the festival.
Finally, on the Day of Life, it starts right when the first rays of light are seen by a designated Seer. The Seer goes about and plays a gentle song to wake everyone. For when the plants and creatures of the universe came to be, they rose to life as if gently waking from a deep sleep. Once enough people are up, we begin! Everyone says, "I am the child of no god, and no goddess. I am a child of my world. What destiny has in store for me, has yet to be seen." Then the painted ball((minus the candle)) is taken to the stage where the plays ere performed for the last part of the play, where the goddess declares to her sons that the universe has been born. Then, everyone shouts, "I am the universe!" and the ball is thrown out to the people for their entertainment. Afterwards, some wooden boxes are placed at the edge of the stage, and the person that played Rosetta tells everyone, "Place you wish into these boxes, and they will come to you by years end!" Then everyone goes to a stand to get a free, pre-made, talisman to write their wish on. Then they place it in a box, with hopes that it will come true by years end! When the sun sets, the festival is officially over. Everyone then shouts, "Good bye, universe!"
