dear god, what is WRONG with children today???

had to fight with another brat whilst working a con that boys kissing is NOT yaoi, and that yaoi means graphic, full-on male+male sex in an anime and/or manga, and is therefore not appropriate for a twelve year old.

and we feel the need to repeat again the difference between yaoi and shonen ai. Gravitation and anime shows NOT involving hardcore porn are SHONEN AI, NOT YAOI! Stuff like Ai No Kusabi, most doujinshi, and anything with obvious, hardcore sex, nekkid men and PEENiES doing naughty things to each other is yaoi, which means if you're under 18 and watching man-porn in the USA, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOUR PARENTS?
*ahem* and yes, i watchzes the man-porn, but i'm old enough to BUY the good stuff, and mature enough to know where to download the stuff you can't buy. and no, that's not bragging, it's being annoyed because yet another 12-year-old fangirl just gushed all over me at a convention about yaoi, while she was actually talking about shonen-ai, then got mad because i very, VERY politely tried to correct her, and got the "pfft, what do YOU know?" response.

my reply? "Not much, i only live it, little girl. Now go away, before i tell you mom you're about to become an episode of Dateline someday if she dosen't knock some sense into you about certain things." about this time, said reson for my insanity wanders over with a nice big sammich from the local burger pit, and we saunter off (yes, saunter, i queen when i'm angry) arm in arm before the little girl, who stares in horrified awe.

i say horrified because apparently her mom talked to con security later and almost got us removed from the convention hall for "verbally abusing" her daughter. once we explained what started the conversation, apparently mommy dearest was less than thrilled that her child had been trying to look into the "adult" box at a table, and even less joyous to find out that she was looking for gay porn.

needless to say, mommy dearest was appalled that such things ever existed, and i learned a valuable lesson from a twelve year old girl that weekend...

Fictional gay men are cool, and safe, and really hot and sexy, but the real thing is inherently evil and perverted, and must be destroyed at all costs (most often by annoyed con mothers with pitchforks and torches).

PLEASE note the sarcasm, kids, because i do NOT need the flames, i'm flaming enough on occasion myself IRL.
