REVAMPED MAY 31ST 2008. I'm not here to teach you how, I'm just here to give some tips. C: one • BE ORIGINAL. No one likes seeing the same thing over and over. Don't be the trend follower. Be the trendsetter. two • MAKE IT FLOW. Fonts play a big role in a good profile, don't underestimate it. D< Some of the best fonts are the ones right in your computer: Century Gothic, Georgia, etc. three • LEARN. There are hundreds of tutorial sites out there. Google them up. Google is God. 8DDDDDD four • INTUITION. When it comes to designing, it all goes to intuition - is there enough blue down there? Should I add something else? Maybe I should take that off? Trust your instincts. (obeyyourthirst. HAHAHA I just had to add that in. XD) five • EXPREIMENT. Like moi. ;DDD Expand your horizons a bit. six • DONATE TO LIX. And you'll be Spotlighted in no time! seven • OOPS. How did that get there? surprised xd eight • FEEL THE PROFILE. BE THE PROFILE. nine • THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS. But it's so much fun~ OH OH OH I GOT ONE. ten • RESPECT EACH OTHERS WORK. Don't steal the concept of the layout. Don't steal anything. And try restraining yourself from viewing source. Ask the creator instead. eleven • EAT YOUR VEGGIES. It helps you grow. C: twelve • THIRTY FIRST! Remember, December 31st is my birthday. 8DDDD thirteen • DON'T SLAVE OVER YOUR WORK. Take a rest every few minutes. Grab a snack, some food, go to the toilet when needed, and listen to Mayday. <3 fourteen • WORSHIP ME. Yep. You should. K, I'm done. 8DDDDDDDDDDD EDIT 6/21/2OO8 If you want a step-by-step tutorial on HOW to make a profile, I'm afraid I can't help you. I don't sketch out my plans, hell, I don't even have any plans, and I don't doodle around with pencil and paper. I choose an image or two that I like, form the layout in my mind, and let my imagination fly in Photoshop. Some of those points really helped to make me laugh.
I don't have paintshop, or I'd probably make much better layouts than I do.
I have a program called photoimpression 4 that I make pretty much everything on.
Including my current layout, which is basically just a picture I added from photobucket because I didn't want to screw with writing a code...
