What bothers me about Gaia arting:
My ratings. XD Ah ha, such a trivial thing! *changes mood dramatically and whips out sword* What's so screwed up about my art huh?
I've seen, okay, not to sound vain/derogatory/or anything, but less-worked-on art that gets higher ratings then I do. Or pictures that are at about the same level art-wise as me but get higher ratings.
Yet at least 12 people give me a grand rating on my latest picture of: 3.
3? I poured hours into that thing. It wouldn't be bad if they at least left comments as to why it's rated so low. But nope, nothing.
I just wish people would explain themselves when they give me a low rating, then I wouldn't care so much. It's not encouraging to get low ratings with no explanation. I've practiced for a long time to get decent-looking characters and designs and the Art Arena throws it in my face. Grr.
*sigh*
Yeah, oh well, it's silly, a popularity contest and if you aren't as talented as the other artists, I guess that's the biz. Better to roll with it and move on. Practice for later in life. DeviantArt is where you go for other artists' critiques, Gaia is where you go for the crowd's reaction to expression. XD
