Wow, late review time again lol. I really did love this series and was always super excited when the next episode came out. Ahhhh, memories lol.
Hyouka is about the energy conserving high schooler, Oreki Houtarou and his (forced) joining of the Classic Clubs. With his friends Satoshi, Ibara, and Chitanda, he solves the many mysteries that appear in their everyday lives.
I really liked this series for multiple factors. Firstly, the animation was gorgeous. The colors were fantastic (especially the first and last episode) and the characters were beautifully done. I also loved how despite being a detective series, it doesn't have over the top mysteries that could affect the entire world. It's simple things like, why was this book continuously checked out or who was the killer in the film? The believable topics made this a lot more relatable. The cultural festival arc really hit it home for me as it contained scenes of jealousy and insecurity. Even though I praise it's simplicity, the reactions to some things are a bit overly dramatic to me, like it's a book, calm the ******** down. This series was just pleasant to watch, easy on the eyes and soft on the ears. Sad that it was such a short thing, time just flew by while I was watching each episode.
Recommended for those that enjoy simple or detective animes, not to mention a hint of romance.~
