Story
Earth. In a distant future there's a city in the sky named Heaven by the men and women that built it. In days long gone this sky high piece of paradise was the jewel of a nation, the first of many of it's kind. Other countries made their versions of Heaven and it was just a matter of time until the skies of Earth were plagued by the pollution of this cities, those bellow cursed to be haunted by their shadow as they grew in number.

Meanwhile in the sky cities themselves time and the hand of man took it's toll. Some would fare better than others but Heaven was lost. A place for crime to thrive on either by the hands of criminal organizations or it's own corrupt government, both controlled by E.A.G.L.E. a ruthless military agency and now the true ruler. It became so powerful that it's influence soon spread across the other sky cities, now most of them under it's control and what's left of the Earth bellow has no option but to bend the knee.

Chapter Twenty Five

"Good morning, Roxy."
She woke up dazed and feeling sick.
She was lying on a bed which was had a mattress too hard be her own.
Oliver was sitting by her side, holding her hand. he didn't had his sunglasses on and she could see how sad and grey his eyes looked.
"Hello, darling. Did you bring my breakfast?" Roxy said as she smiled.
Oliver replied with a smile of his own.
"I was worried that the shock had been too much for you."
It took Roxy a moment to remember why her head felt funny and her body was sore.
"There was an explosion." She started. "I can hardly remember anything else."
"Monday's work I assume." Oliver gave her hand a light squeeze.
"If you have anything you can give me, this is the time.
Tell me what you can. If we catch him we can stop this madness."
Roxy wormed her hand free and tried to sit, which she managed to do with some cost.
"I don't know a thing about where he is.
I heard some stories about him making a show soon, inviting people to watch..
But that's it."
Oliver didn't seem to like that information.
"Another trap. I assume he'll stick to his pattern and blow the whole place."
Roxy shrugged.
"I like a good show but I'm not stupid enough to go to one held by a terrorist group.
Why would anyone go?"
"Because half the town will take the chance, any chance no matter how slim to catch him dead or alive and collect the bounty.
While the agents like me, well we're just doing our job.."
After saying this Oliver's mind seemed to wander for just a few instants.
"It might be a trick to get as many of us killed, maybe he's trying to distract us while he's leaving the town... Either way I can guess many will still show up."
Roxy looked around her while Oliver kept talking.
She was in a hospital. The sun's light flooding the room.
It was quiet and the air felt clean in place of the usual stank that not even some of the best areas of the town could escape.
"Thank you for taking me to a good hospital, darling."
Oliver smiled. Roxy thought of how sad that smile seemed.
"I wish I could have done more."
There was a moment of silent hesitation.
Roxy had to ask.
"My girls... Did they make it?"
Another moment.
"Roxy..."
The singer grabbed the Oliver's arm.
"They are the closest thing to a family I have."
He held her hand again, gently.
"Day was arrested.
Night... we... I am so sorry, Roxy. I don't know.
We're still looking though the wreckage."
Roxy masked everything she felt at that moment.
It took her a moment too long perhaps but she managed.
Her mother had always told her never to show weakness, never shed a tear in front of anyone. Roxy never forgot her mother.
The poor thing might still be alive. She just went missing one night.
Not that Roxy expected her mother to come back.
This city always made sure to eat you up and s**t you out.
"I feel a little tired.
Visit me tomorrow, please?"
Roxy kissed him lightly on the cheek, then lay back and close her eyes.
"Roxy, I promise you..."
"No." Roxy interrupted him. "I'm hurt enough for one day.
I get to meet all sorts of people back at the club.
They tell me things and I know, believe me darling I know..."
Fighting the tears was getting hard.
"They are both gone.
Those two were like sisters to me. My family.
I don't want your promises.
I just want you to leave."
She didn't open her eyes, moved or spoke until she heard him leave.
A nurse walked in sometime later, Roxy wasn't sure when.
Perhaps she had fallen asleep.
She didn't care, she just let herself sink.

*****

"Greetings, Agent Oliver."
Oliver had completely forgot the android.
Seemed impossible but after all this events he felt and looked a mess, it was hard to think straight.
"Any news for me?"
Oliver walked by the android and it followed him as he made his way through the hospital's surrounding garden.
"Arrested suspect was taken by the I.I.D. for further questioning.
Missing suspect, Night found dead."
Oliver felt relieved that Roxy hadn't allowed him to make any promises.
They were both beyond his power to help now.
"Why as the other girl been considered a suspect?
I want to watch the autopsy."
"Understood. Doctor Sunday will be preforming it."
Oliver stopped.
Why would Sunday preform the autopsy himself?
Monday was playing a game for two. Did the doctor expect to find a clue?
What had happened during Oliver's absence?
"I will inform the doctor of our arrival."
"Yes." Oliver said. "I'm sure you will."
