In the city the guardians stand, tall and proud, wrapped in light and encased in shadows. Birds flitter throughout the silky strands of their hair and animals skitter about their toes as sunlight flowes over their limbs and cast intricate patterns upon the ground. Underneath the guardians' watchful eye, two lovers embrance. Forever entwined, forever one, and forever together.
This is a story about the two lovers that have eternally been remembered in the tales of the locals and the writings of this story.
In the mirror she saw herself; radiant hazel eyes, wavy copper bangs framing a slender face, pouty lips that momentarily concealed the enjoyed smile of before, freckles peppering pale, porcelain skin, and a slim, petite body. What she didn't see was the poison lurking deep beneath her skin, chaning her blood into a weapon in order to destroy her.
She did not see a girl with cancer; she instead saw a healthy girl full of love and laughter.
When she'd gone to the hospital after recieving a nasty hit to the head because of a stray ball during soccer practice, she'd expected it to be a routine X-ray, but then they'd found it, a little, almost insignificant blip on the screen.
At first she'd thought it was only a malufunction, something had to have gone wrong with the machine or perhaps the doctors themselves had made some kind of mistake because how could someone so healthy looking have a tumor. Besides shouldn't there have been some kind of symptoms!
Yea, see it was a mistake, they were wrong; she was perfectly, absolutely fine.
