I can't choose which one of these 3 writings are better for a reading Tuesday. Please leave a comment saying which one you liked or which one I should read and please be honest. Each one will have a pre-reading giving you some information about it. Also feel free to say anything you'd add or change, I love feedback.
This scene is based off a true story that happened yesterday. I'm Lucy (although I'm really not). The words in () are stage directions. I wrote this one today in class.
The Final Scene
Location: A park, it’s about noon. The sun is bright, on a warm summer day.
Characters: Catherine Carrillo & Lucy Hokori
Setting the Stage: Lucy & Catherine are just meeting. Catherine is mad, because she thinks Lucy is trying to take her boyfriend.

Scene:

Catherine
Just stay away from him. I don’t want you talking to my boyfriend.

Lucy
I can do what I want, when I want. You can’t stop me.
Catherine
Do it, see what happens.
Lucy
Ha! I dare you to try something! I’m untouchable.
Catherine
Are you sure about that little girl?
Lucy
My step dad’s a hunter, I’m dangerous and you’d have to go through a lot of people to get to
me, so yeah. And I’m not a little girl, old lady.
Catherine
I’m twenty-one, I’m not old Hun.
Lucy
If you think I’m a little girl, then you most defiantly are old.
Catherine
Just stay away from my man.
Lucy
I don’t think you can stop me. He just got me back into his life, I’m pretty sure he won’t let YOU
of all people ruin that.
Catherine
(Steps closer)
I wouldn’t be so sure.
Lucy
Well, we’ll have to see about that now won’t we? Because I know you can’t control either of us.
Catherine
Maybe not, but he’ll listen to me.
Lucy
I’m stronger than you and I can’t even control him. And I used to, so I would know. Besides, I don’t even like him anymore. So this is just pointless.
Catherine
No it’s not. I’m going to get what I want.
Lucy
Even though you’re wasting your time? Trust me, I don’t want him, my mom always taught me to share my used toys.
Catherine
I’m telling him you said that.
Lucy
Who’s he going to believe? His ex-girlfriend he’s known for 2 or more years or his current girlfriend that he’s known for a month? I have seniority.
Catherine
That won’t matter to him, he loves me.
Lucy
Oh really now? Because he’s told me he loved me about 3 times since you’ve been together.
Catherine
That’s a lie! He lies all the time! He wouldn’t tell you that.
Lucy
(Steps closer)
How much do you want to bet? He has a history of cheating and he’s cheated on me before. Plus he’s tried to kiss me while you were with him. And if he lies all the time, how do you know he wasn’t lying when he tells you he loves you?
Catherine
He doesn’t lie to me.
Lucy
How do you know for sure? He tells me everything and he can’t lie to me. I can tell if he’s lying. He’s told me a few things about you two also.
Catherine
Like?
Lucy
Like he was going to break up with you and stay single for a while. Mainly because he’s going to college and doesn’t want to worry about girls.
Catherine
(Almost in tears)
That’s not true!
Lucy
Oh but it is. You can even ask him, but he only tells the truth when he’s drunk. You can even text him now and ask.
Catherine
I think I will.
(pulls out her phone and texts him)
Lucy
If you want I can tell you if he’s lying or not. I’m like a lie detector.
Catherine
(Her phones rings, she opens and reads the text)
He said you’re lying. I knew it.
Lucy
I figured he would say that. Here read his texts to me.
(Hands Catherine her phone)
Catherine
Oh my God. He’s in trouble now! Thanks, I’ll take care of it. I’m glad you were honest unlike him!
Lucy
No problem. Friends?
Catherine
(Hands Lucy back her phone)
Friends.
(Black out)

This one is a random Monologue I made yesterday in class. It's more of a story than a fun read.

Final Monologue
Name: Xenon Smith
Occupation: A Freshman at the University of Oregon. She works part time at Wal-Mart.
Family Background: She only has her mom left, her dad died in a fire 3 years ago. She’s been the main caretaker of her house and mom.
I Believe: Family is there to help each other.
Education is key if you want to succeed.
Blue is the best color.
Desserts make the best breakfast.
You’re never too old to watch SpongeBob Squarepants.
Cats are the best house.

Scene set-up:
A dorm room with Xenon and her roommate. Xenon is just moving in and unpacking. Her roommate has been there for a year.

Monologue:

Xenon
(Talking to her roommate, while unpacking.)

Let’s get to know each other a little. My name is Xenon Smith. This is my first year here at U of O. I’m studying to be a vet. My mom is living not far from here. We’re really close, we have been since my father died in a fire 3 years ago. Not his fault, I guess, it was his job. I never really understood why he wanted to be a firefighter, and now I never will. Anyways, my m0om was depressed for a few months, but I eventually cheered her up. She now has a boyfriend, so I don’t have to worry about her. I decided to go back to school and here I am. I graduated top of my class aback at Madison High School. I hope it won’t bug you, but I like watching SpongeBob in the afternoons. I’ll also have my cat Jynxy here. You’ll love her, unless you hate cats. My favorite color is blue, so my side of the room will mainly be blue. I’m really here to learn, but I also love to have fun. However, if I’m studying don’t bug me. I’d really like us to be friends or at least not hate each other. So, tell me about yourself.
(End Monologue)

This one was pretty fun to do and is pretty funny. It'a all completly made up. I had to do a story titled something that I had to draw out of a box. The Title I got was "Heaping Mounds of Turtle Cash" Fair warning, it's very cheesy but it's also romantic and sweet. Again, words in () are stage directions.
“Heaping Mounds of Turtle Cash”
Characters: Mike Turtle & Linda House
Images: Mounds of cash, Turtles blending in with the piles of cash, & Turtles eating the cash.
Plot: Linda is a gold digger, and she’s dating Mike. Mike has two rooms in his mansion filled with heaping mounds of “turtle” cash.
Setting the Stage: On his private island in the Caribbean. It’s night time, Mike and Linda are on a date on his balcony.

Linda
It’s a beautiful night out tonight.
Mike
So are you.
Linda
You are so sweet, but I know you’re just saying that.
Mike
I mean it. I love you.
(Gets on one knee, with a little black box in his hands.)
And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?
Linda
Yes!
(Mike puts the ring on her finger.)
Oh Mike, it’s beautiful!
Mike
Only the best for you.
Linda
You spoil me too much.
Mike
Only because you’re special and mine.
Linda
I can’t imagine getting spoiled like this all the time.
(She smiles)
Mike
You might get used to it.
Linda
Yeah, maybe. I’ll be right back.
Mike
Hurry back.
(Linda leaves, coming back soon after with money practically falling out of her purse.)
Welcome back dear.
Linda
Thanks, uh, honey.
(Mike pulls her chair out for her)
Thanks…Again.
Mike
You don’t have to thank me.
Linda
Sorry, I’m used to it.
(She sits down and Mike pushes her chair in)
Mike
What’s that in your purse?
Linda
Oh that’s my turtle.
(Pulls a turtle out of her purse)
He likes to go with me everywhere.
Mike
He looks like one of my turtles that crawl around in your stacks of cash?
Linda
You don’t have to keep mentioning your cash. I already know you’re rich! You don’t have to be so full of yourself! God, you’re impossible.
Mike
I’m sorry sweetie. I don’t mean to mention it so much.
Linda
Nothing a diamond bracelet won't fix.
Mike
Done.

I really like the first one and the third one ^^ (Though that may be because the first one is really relate-able and I love love Turtles)

But for a single person reading I think the second one would be best *Nods*
If you choose that one though I would recommend as you are reciting it maybe pausing every couple lines for a few seconds and such to make sure it doesn't feel rushed or anything ^^ a.k.a. imagine you actually are unpacking.
(Is this for an acting class? That was one of my favorite classes in High school ^^)
