I really just need to get this out of my system. I know it's stupid... but, I need to get this off my chest. Bare with me?
So, wedding receptions are fun and joyful. We all gather and celebrate the union of two people who are in love and have decided to spend the rest of their lives together. All in all, we are there ((at the wedding and reception)) for the BRIDE and the GROOM!!! Today, 10-09-2010, was my sister's wedding to the most wonderful man, whom I consider a brother. Now, the wedding went wonderfully ((even though I'm not really a church person)), everything was beautiful. When the wedding party arrived at the reception hall, there was a tense feeling in the air, no one really knew why. Well, we soon found out. The grooms mother had called the entire side of the bride's party, and I am not lying, "white trash". The grooms mother, before attacking the entire brides party, targeted the brides aunt and cousins. If that wasn't enough, she then went after the bride's maid of honor, whom is her very very close friend, and told her to keep her mouth shut and that she was "just like them" ((like the bride's aunt and cousins)). She then called the entire brides party "white trash". The bride's aunt and cousins were in tears, while the maid of honor tried not to murder anyone. The groom was not too happy with his mother and he made that clear. The grooms mother eventually "apologized" ((which was not that well done)). This all went on for the first 2, maybe 3, hours of the reception. But, as the night carried on and people kept drinking, the dance floor was filling. This woman who had, just hours earlier, insulted a group of people she barely knew, climbed up onto one of the tables and started dancing like a drunk. I swear I'm not making this up. She was hooting and hollering and acting like... well, let's face "white trash". There were more than a few people who were ready to pull her off that table and take her outside.
But, I just am glad that the groom is nothing like his mother. I am also glad that the "incident" lasted for that short amount of time.
