Lucas walked up to the stone door with his two partners, wormmon (Yevon) and Palmon (Jou) following behind him. He looked back at them and smiled, "Come, we have a fallen angel that is said to hide behind this door that needs to be purified of his crimes." Uncertainty swells inside of him, but he shakes his head and adjusts his glasses. "Alright guys, let's do it." He pulls out a green digivice and points it at the stone door. The digivice gives off a radiant green light and the sound of locks clicking could be heard as the door began to slide to the side, revealing a dark cave with stalagmites erupting from the ceiling and ground, oozing corrupted digi-code.
Lucas steps through the doorway and feels strong dark aura trying to push him away. "GHOULMON!!! I HAVE COME TO EXORCISE YOU FROM THIS PLACE!" He stands firm and holds up his digivice in the darkness. Emitting the same light as before, a dark figure could be seen moving through the shadows and stony pillars.
"Who dares awaken me from my slumber?" the dark digimon questioned. A glowing red eye could be seen as the digimon approached Lucas and his two partners. "You have made a dear mistake in coming here."
"IT IS I, LUCAS LIGER, THE REDEEMER OF LOST SOULS! I know of what I have done and I'll have you know, that your reign of terror has come to an end!! JOU, YEVON, LET'S GO!!!" Both of Lucas's partners, dashes from behind him, charging toward the dark beast. Lucas holds his digivice toward his partners. "DIGI-MEMORIES ACTIVATE!!"
The crest of Jungle Trooper and the crest of Virus Buster appear and fly towards their corresponding digimon, causing them to glow and digivolve.
"PALMON... DIGITAL MEMORY... OVERDRIVE!"
"WORMON... DIGITAL MEMORY... OVERDRIVE!"
Ghoulmon chuckles as the glowing digimon approach him, "Memory users... I see. Fine then, I'll play your game. DEATH WAVE!!!" Ghoulmon waves one of his arms and emits a dark aura that knocks both digimon back, canceling their digivolution. He then chants under his breath, causing a spell to seal away their ability to use the digi-memories. "I'll give you one last chance to leave this place..."
Lucas looked back at his digimon who were struggling back to their feet. He winced as the ghoulmon's spell hit him the most, preventing him from using their strongest asset. "Dammit, looks like we'll have to take this the long way. You guys still up for this?" Both of his partners nodded and walked back to Lucas's sides. "There is your answer, now perish."
The digivice in Lucas's hand began to glow as his digimon also began to glow...
"WORMMON, SHINKA... STINGMON!!"
"PALMON SHINKA...TOGEMON!!"
The two digimon stared fiercely at the target digimon. Togemon tightens her fists and makes a few quick jabs in the air. Stingmon's wings start to buzz, lifting him off the ground. "Go..." With that both digimon charge toward the digimon. "Initiate strategy 10-B: Aerial Assault!" Lucas throws his hand out as he commands and rolls his digivice in hand as it converted to a different form that allowed scanning of some sort. His other hand went into a pouch on his side that held cards.
Both digimon nod in acceptance of Lucas's command. Stingmon flies behind Togemon and flings her into the air by lifting her up by her prickly legs. The cactus digimon flies toward the ghoulmon and begins to spin in the air.
"PRICKLY BANG BANG!!!" Spiked needles then rained down on the ghoulmon who was in shock by their power.
Stingmon flew off to join Togemon in the air, charging electricity between his antenna, " Lightning Strike!" A bolt of purple electricity fired from Stingmon and whipped at Ghoulmon.
Ghoulmon winced in pain as he was hit by the attacks. He then countered by swatting both digimon out of the air, knocking them to the ground. Ghoulmon's eye started to glow an evil red color as he beamed at the two digimon below him. "Perish for you ignorance! EXPLOSIVE EYE!" A large aura beam fired from his eye, aimed right at Yevon and Jou.
"Don't give up!! CARD SLASH!" Lucas quickly pulled out a card who's picture resembled a gallantmon's shield. "GOLDEN SHIELD, DEFEND!!!" Lucas slashed the card across his digivice and winced at the bright light it emitted. Soon a golden ray fired from the device's screen and zoomed toward Jou, the togemon.
Jou reached out with her red glove and caught the astral power source and brought it up to take the impact from the blast. Jou was nearly knocked over from the force, but received some assistance from Yevon, who was also holding on to the shield. After the blast had ended, the shield vanished as was replaced with a golden aura that was radiating from both of the digimon.
"What... what is this power that I sense?!!!" Ghoulmon stepped back as both glowing digimon were now walking towards him.
Lucas sighed and adjusted his glasses. He had to take a break because of the amount of energy that it took to use the card. "That, my friend, is your own power turned against you. Now the tables will surely turned in our favor. JOU... YEVON!!! TEAR HIM APART!!"
With that command both digimon shifted from a walk to a full-on dash toward Ghoulmon. The glow from their recent boost left a golden streak in their wake. "Get... GET AWAY!!! DEATH ARROW!!!" In panic, the ghoulmon threw up both of his arms, revealing two eyes that had the same red glow as he had. The red glow condensed and then fired off repeatedly, emitting red energy bolts that rained down on the approaching digimon.
Jou and Yevon saw the attack coming and stopped their charge, moving from side to side to avoid getting hit and taking temporary cover behind pillars before they were obliterated from continuous hits. The power of the card was slowly wearing away as they were using its energy to avoid getting hit.
"This isn't good," He thought to himself, "If this keeps up, they'll lose their boost and we'll be right back a square one... Think Lucas, think." Lucas pushed his glasses back up and analyzed the situation that they were in. "They need a way to get to him from afar or at least around... around... I GOT IT!!!" Lucas's hand whipped back into his pocket and went searching for another card. After searching he pulled out two cards, "CARD SLASH!! FLY AWAY, and then, MUSPELHIEM!!!" The two cards reacted and send aura rays toward his digimon.
First, wings sprouted from Jou's back and then a both of Yevon's arms converted to crossbow like arms. Both digimon took to the sky, rising above Ghoulmon's attack. With a little bit of energy left, both digimon fired down on Ghoulmon, "PRICKLY BANG BANG!!" "MOON SHOOTER!!" Ghoulmon was assaulted by a powered-up volley of needles and purple energy darts.
"AGH!!" Ghoulmon cried. He still firing because of his low response time, Ghoulmon fell over sending darts all over the place. Out of sheer luck, Ghoulmon was able to hit both of the digimon, causing them to fall out of the air, hitting the ground with a audible crash.
"JOU!! YEVON!!" Lucas ran to assist his now two rookie digimon. "Dammitt" Lucas brought the weakened palmon and wormmon close to him, cradling them in his arms. Something could his eye as he looked above the digimon before him.
Ghoulmon was a bit dazed from the blow, holding his head to stop the spinning. "Oi, my head... *odd shaking noise*" Ghoulmon then shook himself and looked down at the tamer and his two digimon. "Well then... looks like I got lucky this time." Ghoulmon picked himself up and looked down at the tamer with his main eye glowing once more, walking toward Lucas with big heavy steps. "You did your best and even caught me off guard, but now it's time for you to die." His eye pulled in energy as it charged. "Exxxplooooosiiiiiive Ey----"
"Hehe... look up..." Wormmon looked up at the ghoulmon chuckling weakly.
"EH?!" Ghoulmon stopped and tilted his head. His eye widened as he heard the sound of crumbling rocks. "Oh s**t..." a large cracking sound was then heard as a massive amount of rocks collapsed down on Ghoulmon, interrupting his charge and forcing him down on his stomach. "Not... cool."
Lucas stood up, sitting both of his digimon down on the ground, where they were able to stand on their own. "Looks like I win, but just to be sure..." Lucas went to his card pouch and pulled out two 'Digivolve' cards and scanned the both of them. His digimon digivolved once more and prepared to deal the final blow.
Jou raised her punching glows and charged an aura in each fist. "LIGHT SPEED JABBING!" Jou jumped into the air and unloaded a flurry of fast punches that beat against both Ghoulmon and the rocks that covered him. She then landed, being replaced by Yevon who was in the air as well.
Yevon raised one of his arms and concentrated as a long, purple spike erupted from the hole in his arm. He then brought it back and darted for the Ghoulmon's back and impaled him through the shattered rocks. "SPIKING FINISH!"
Ghoulmon let out a painful screech and flattened under the rocks. Soon a light was given off as Ghoulmon reverted back to a digitama that floated out of the rocks. The egg then came back down and settled on top of the newly formed mountain of rocks. With Ghoulmon defeated, the cave began to recover its orginal light as the exit became visible.
Lucas walked toward the egg and picked it up. He spoke softly to it as he walked toward the exit, "And thus begins your fresh start." He looked back at Stingmon and Togemon with a light smirk. "Good job, now let's go home and work on Ghoulmon's redemption."
Both digimon nodded and reverted back to their rookie stage and followed after Lucas as he limped toward the exit and into the light.
