The following powers are to be used with my character Jin, these will be fairly detailed and go hand-in-hand with any RPs where the descriptions of Jin's powers are not detailed. These are the max his powers will likely ever be, and are always manipulative based on the situation, just because it says he can teleport in the blink of an eye doesn't mean he'll always be able to in all situations.
Warning: Not all powers have weaknesses, even those with a weakness, small or large will not be described. Some people have issues with being able to keep knowledge found out of character from merging in character, therefore weaknesses are to be described during the RPs only. He has them, some are obvious and glaring, some are subtle, but I am not going to make them apparent.
Enhanced Attributes Strength - Against what it seems, Jin is fairly strong due to his powers, able to lift upwards of 800 pounds without difficulty, having gone somewhat above even that rather impressive amount. To put that into perspective, some of the heaviest Kawasaki motorcycles weigh in at around 650 pounds, while a Honda Civic 2-door is about 2,500 lbs. Speed - Jin's ability to sprint isn't completely impressive, in fact, he barely pushes beyond human limits. He can sprint upwards of 28 miles per hour, but that's only in short bursts of about 8-10 seconds at a time before he slows down into an average running speed of 24 miles per hour. He can keep up his average speed for a dozen or so miles without needing to stop and catch his breath. Stamina - Jin, having become imbued with the magic of the spectral realm, requires little sleep, only 2 hours at the most to feel completely rejuvenated. He can also use his powers for hours straight without feeling too fatigued. Agility - Jin isn't anything special in the agility department, but has been noted to keep up with his brother who is known to be fairly agile. He can dodge a bullet from around 30 feet out. Intelligence - Jin's IQ has never been measured, but he seems to have a sharp mind, able to assess any situation quickly enough to keep himself out of harm. Though he speaks with a condescending tone, he's likely only gifted with an IQ of around 120, possibly less. Hearing - Slightly above the best human hearing. Sight - Though Jin has normal 20/20 vision, his ability to see spirits, ghosts, and even converse with them is where he shines. Being able to see energies others might not, even Salem who can only sense non-manifesting energy, Jin has quite a sight for seeing attacks as they're charging, seeing supernatural, spiritual, and magical energies. Smell, Touch, Taste - Jin can touch ghosts, physically harming them with melee attacks. Everything else is normal. Endurance - Jin's endurance is hardly above average, though he's been knocked through walls, punched senseless and hit with strong energy attacks, Jin is quite weak when it comes to damage, especially because he has no natural healing ability. Jin, therefore, is more willing to flee a dangerous battle than finish it to the end.
Magical Fortitude Power Swapping - Jin is a powerful spell caster, he's not limited by the amount of powers he can wield, he's limited by how many he can wield at a time. Too many spells can cause Jin to overload himself, unable to effectively use his magical fortitude for the spells he currently uses. As such, Jin limits his powers to around half-a-dozen at a time, but to counteract this, Jin has a pocket book which allows him to swap powers into different fields of magics. His current favorite field is usually spiritual abilities, which is why he utilizes it so much and why he will mainly use these powers. However, Jin also has spell reserves he can swap out when desired to change his powers. Think of it as swapping for different weapons back and forth, it allows Jin to change his current powers for something more suited to the situation he's likely to get into, and as such, he can be well armed in combat. Jin has 5 total powers he can swap out in any order, but how he does them is a tad bit different. First off, the list:
- Spiritual Abilities
- Basic Elements (Fire, Wind, Water/Ice, Earth, Electricity)
- Advanced Elements (Darkness and Light)
- Dark Magic (Things such as animal control, mind shattering, energy draining, spontaneous combustion, things which break free will and cause violent damage)
- Telekinesis and Psychic Based Abilities
(Side Note: Though most of my characters believe there to be seven elements which make up the universe: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Electricity, Darkness and Light; the characters could simply make it a personal belief and therefore not necessarily be correct in thinking.)
Jin usually carries a black pocket book, each page filled with personally handwritten instructions to swap out his powers and how they're performed. The time it takes to swap them out makes it horribly impractical for immediate use, and Jin usually needs a 15 minute period of time to recover while he adjusts to his new powers, therefore it cannot be used in the heat of battle. For the 4 non-dark magics, Jin simply performs an incantation and channels his magical power for a period of 5 minutes, then comes the 15 minute break in which he adjusts his body to handle the powers. For Dark Magic, it requires (cliched, but necessary) a darker incantation and using blood to channel his magic into then drinking the blood. Usually he'll pour the blood into a cup, or a bowl, something to hold it in, whatever can be used and usually about 3-4 ounces of blood (about .06 of a pint), imbue the blood with the dark magic, and drink the blood, which will cancel out his current powers and replace them with the dark magic. Again, though, it needs 5 minutes and a 15 minute period to accomplish.
Magic Sensing - Because of Jin's magical fortitude, Jin can sense the spell casting of another person and the magical energies being utilizes. Anything that operates on magic will allow Jin to sense it from a distance of several miles, allowing him to find the source of the magic. In a similar vein, though slightly different, Jin is capable of sensing energy attacks, but he cannot do it unless within a 40 foot distance, making it so much more limited, and utterly useless as he could just likely see the energy being used anyway.
He cannot do anything with the information except follow the source of magic, capable of following a trail by mind alone. He cannot physically see the magical energies, but he can feel them.
Immortality The Specifics - Jin's immortality only lies with aging, in that he cannot die of old age or will he ever show any signs of aging, having stopped aging past his late teens. While his body has literally stopped aging, keeping his youthful body, he still requires food, water and sleep, though very little in regards to each of them. Jin can survive weeks without food or water, and sleep is only needed for a few hours a night. On a related note, Jin's hair still grows, as does facial hair, though he's got little to no body hair elsewhere. Because of this immortality, Jin's body naturally heals faster than normal, up to four times faster. What could take up to 4 weeks to heal a single wound would only take a week.
Spectral Powers (1 of 5) Phasing / Intangibility + Invisibility - Jin's most commonly used powers relate to the spectral realm, or astral plane. In essence, Jin's current powers allow him to act as though he's a spirit, or ghost. There are numerous advantages to having the ability of a spectre and powers relating to them, along with several disadvantages, while many of the disadvantages won't be listed, there will be several pointed out.
The most basic, or most common whichever way you look at it, allows Jin to phase in and out of reality, in a sense, turning him intangible, that is unable to be struck by physical weapons or attacks. In the same sense, he can also vanish from physical sight, turning himself invisible. The powers can be used at the same time, or separately, used however the situation calls for it. Jin is a coward, no matter how he acts, or what he does, he's not going into a battle he knows will get him killed (attempting to fight Salem to finish what he started notwithstanding), therefore whatever will keep him alive is what he'll most often use.
The powers of the spectral realm rely on smoke, or a black mist most of the time, either way you cut it, he can vanish in a puff of smoke in an instant, or so it appears. Jin's power rely on magic, in a sense, all his powers are just copies of natural powers superhumans may exhibit, even energy manipulation is nothing more than a copy of the true ability, therefore whatever he does relies on mental spellcasting. Were someone to have these powers embedded into their soul (as some powers can be), the time it takes to activate a power would be far less. Jin must rely on cheap tactics, sneak attacks, anything that catches him off-guard cannot usually be countered in time, thus he has to think about what he does before he does it, and must plan out what he's going to do. The time it takes to cast the average spell to utilize a specific power is usually 1-2 seconds, therefore he must think ahead a full 2 seconds just for one action, and during the heat of battle that isn't always possible.
So what usually happens when Jin activates a specific power? When Jin phases out of reality, thus turning intangible, the level of visibility can range from appearing fully solid to appearing transparent to the point in darkness he would be almost impossible to see, and in sunlight would still be difficult to see. When intangible, he is not in the physical plane, or reality at all, thus he cannot be touched, but neither can he touch anyone, and he can easily pass through physical barriers such as walls, flooring, ceilings, and so on, even through water without disturbing it (he will however still be forced to hold his breath). However, Jin is susceptible to magic attacks as well as energy-based attacks, even phased out of reality, he can be struck by the majority of magical attacks and energy. Physical attacks are out of the question, weapons like guns, swords, they cannot harm him. Even a majority of magic attacks may be harmful, but they won't phase him back into reality or severely damage him. What could be fatal while in reality could be an annoyance while intangible. Though physical attacks based on reality such as ice, earth, even water attacks will more or less do no harm. In the same instance, anything energy based does double damage it would normally, most often knocking him out of his intangible status, shifting him back into reality. Intangibility is not accompanied by any smoke or mist, he simply fades out.
Invisibility is a different matter entirely, as he simply turns his body invisible. Smoke (or dark mist as it is also known) gives an indication to where Jin vanished from. It is not a teleport, not entirely, but the smoke clouds him and when it clears he'll be gone from sight, regardless on whether he moved or not. To the untrained eye Jin will appear as either nothing (completely invisible) or as a faint human-sized mist, even most people would not take a second glance, and he wouldn't often be around afterwards. The invisibility works only against human vision, any surveillance cameras, thermal imaging, or superhuman/supernatural vision will still be able to see him as long as their vision is not just an enhanced form of superhuman vision. However, some have reported being able to detect his energy, and for those capable of sensing energy or ghosts will be capable of detecting Jin. As such, it is far from a perfect invisibility, but against humans it has worked wonders.
However, Jin is rarely invisible without intangibility, because of that, he will usually disappear in a puff of dark mist, intangible nearly the same time as he goes invisible. though Jin is a creature of habit, sometimes, and falls into patters, as such, he will always turn invisible then intangible. Though don't be fooled, Jin can switch things up if he feels they aren't working out.
Jin is fairly powerful with his magical copies, he can turn intangible/invisible parts of his body or his entire body at once, though Jin really does find it easier to perform the magic on his entire body at one time, instead of separate parts.
Smoke Forming - This supernatural ability is, once more, magical in nature, no more than a copy of a similar power. Using dark magical aligned with the spectral realm, Jin has the ability to form a supernatural smoke (dark mist) that can cloud the immediate area. The smoke is thick, black, and hard to see through, even enhanced or superhuman vision may find it hard to see through. This does not darken the area, nor does it protect, its only useful is clouding the vision of others, allowing Jin to slip by unnoticed in a case where his invisibility would fail. The smoke does not damage the lungs, and is in fact quite breathable, feeling not unlike a cold mist on a chilly day, though a wholly wrong color. It is rather chilly to the touch, and Jin has surprisingly perfect control over how much smoke forms and where, capable of forming a mist around just a person's head, though it takes much more control and concentration to do that.
The smoke appears to come from no where, most often seemingly originating from the ground, but no source could ever be detected. No real vision can penetrate is, as already mentioned, even thermal would be lost in the coldness generated from the dark colored smoke. One last note is that while the mist is formed, Jin has shown the ability to echo his voice within it, making it difficult to pinpoint where he is in correlation with his enemies.
Spectral Shifting - This power is simply another name for an instant teleportation, though Jin has a few hoops to leap through during the teleportation, it is instant and to his enemies he does appear to vanish. Like with invisibility, he disappears in a cloud of smoke, which leads some who have fought him to believe both powers are identical in their workings. When activated, Jin vanishes from the mortal plane entirely, unlike with intangibility where he phases out of reality, nothing can touch him, and neither can he touch them. When he is outside the mortal realm, time stops for him, allowing him to move and teleport. For all intents and purposes, this IS a true teleportation.
The teleporting is not perfect, Jin can be struck mid-teleport which will cancel his teleport, and he cannot teleport as long as someone is touching him, meaning he cannot teleport out of a grapple. Jin seems to have a maximum range of about 180 feet, which is equal to about 54.864 meters. As with all his powers, he can combine them, therefore he could turn intangible, invisible, then teleport. But again, all his powers are performed by mental spells linked to the current set of powers (more on that later).
Supernatural Burst / Wave - The only superhuman-style attacks Jin seems to have. Like with energy, Jin can produce spheres to attack. They form in the same manner of energy attacks, around his hands and he can toss them. They range in power to pushing someone back to exploding upon impact, sometimes throwing his enemies. Generally speaking, however, the supernatural attacks are less powerful than energy at a ratio of 1:3, which means for every one max powered energy attacks, Jin would need three supernatural burst attacks to equal the damage. It is somewhat of a moot point, though, as Jin can spawn them continuously around his hands and arms and throw them until he tires out or switches tactics. Most superhuman attacks can cancel the attack before it strikes, and some larger bullets have been known to destroy the weaker spheres Jin can toss, making the attacks far from perfect, but combining with his other powers they are still dangerous. The supernatural energy appears as a silver-white transparent attack, making them harder to see than most energies, but not difficult enough most people haven't been able to counter them or block them.
The supernatural wave works in the same fashion as energy waves, using energy waves to push people back, knock them off balance, some instances of energy waves have been known to stop someone falling and knock them away, and Jin's supernatural wave is hardly different. Jin, however, has a lot more control over how the wave works, able to form two waves with each hand, directing them however he wishes, in a sense. The waves, when directed, seem to converge on a single point, arcing out as a cone-shape as the waves flow, and in Jin's most used case, allows him to strike them at the ground at an angle, allowing them to flow through the ground, kicking up dirt and debris as it flies by an opponent, useful for temporarily blinding them or turning their attention elsewhere. He can also fling out the cone waves of supernatural energy at buildings, and when struck, they will often wrap around the building they strike, ripping up the building. They do appear to be more powerful than the non-damaging energy waves they are related to, but they don't appear to cause any significant damage to a person they're directed at, making them truly useful as distractions.
Flight / Smoke Trail - Harnessing the power of supernatural energy, Jin can take flight, his maximum speed somewhere around Mach 1, hardly the same speed as most flight-users, but still impressive in his own right. The power, however, can be used without needing to push off an object or ground, allowing him to stop himself from falling or preventing himself from striking the ground if thrown. Though like with all powers, they need to be mentally channeled, making Jin mentally perform an incantation spell to activate flight. The flight lasts as long as he does not touch the ground, therefore once he does, it must be reactivated. Because of the delay in which he needs to perform the magic, any fast throws will still result in Jin striking the ground.
Smoke Trail is the same thing: flight. However, this allows Jin to become a smokey apparition, capable of slipping through cracks or just generally avoiding attacks. When smoke, physical attacks will not harm him, but the same rules still apply for when invisible, that is: magical-based and energy attacks harm him, but not solidified magical attacks, such as with ice or earth. Lightning and fire oddly work differently and can be used to harm him while invisible or in smoke form while flying.
Basic Elemental Control (2 of 5) Fire Manipulation (Pyrokinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Fire. A gift so which we may warm our bodies and allow us dominance over other life. The manipulation of fire, in Jin's case, is a carbon copy of the true Pyrokinesis many need no spell for, while Jin is quite powerful as a spell caster, he is also limited by mental spells, as he must draw his power from another source. Were he imbued by magic, drawing it from his own body, perhaps his ability to cast would not be limited. In either case, Jin has most basic control over fire, unable to produce it on his own, but able to twist it and shape it as he pleases.
Jin's ability to control fire is limited at a range of 50 feet, making it a power he does not excel at because of the limited range. But within that range, Jin controls fire through hand movements, and as long as he is manipulating a source of fire, no flame can harm him. Now, that's not to say he can't be harmed by fire at all as long as he is using elemental control, it is more mentioned that as long as he is controlling a source of fire, he cannot be harmed, thus catching him off guard is the best way to shroud him in flames.
Jin can form fireballs, throwing out smaller ones from a single ball, he can twist and control it, allowing it to surround an opponent, form a pattern on the ground, or cause it to burn hotter or colder, along with creating a strong smoke from it that can cause lung damage. As long as Jin is within 50 feet of a source of fire, he is able to control it, no matter how massive the flames, even dousing it. His only true limitation in this mental spell casting is that he cannot create fire himself from nothing, he must have a source, and even he cannot make it resistant to water, plus while he is manipulating the fire, his concentration must remain on the fire, leaving him open from other sides.
Wind Manipulation (Aerokinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Wind. Allowing us the chance to breathe so we may carry on. A carbon copy of the true Aerokinesis, but still powerful in its own right, Jin is able to manipulate the wind in basic form. Unfortunately, as Jin is not powerful with Aerokinesis, he cannot create strong hurricanes or any tornadoes above an F-1 category, which tops wind speed at about 70 miles per hour, give or take. But while not truly impressive, Jin can also part the air around a bubble, making it so others cannot breathe, or in extreme cases literally part the air from their lungs. The tornado, unfortunately while weak, is still his stronger Aerokinetic power. His maximum range is 200 feet, beyond that the power will fizzle, though while controlling the wind he will not need to breathe, making him able to remove all air around him and still survive long periods. It could theoretically be used underwater as well, as the spell is active even if not mentally grasping the air.
Water / Ice Manipulation (Hydro/Cryokinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Water. The source of all life, allowing us hydration and survival. Another carbon copy of the true power, this allows Jin to manipulate water and ice, as they are both within the same category. Jin is also able to control the air temperature by a small degree. Sadly, while he's somewhat powerful in this ability, anyone with true manipulation of water and ice can overpower him, completely shattering his spell without much effort.
Water spouts, parting water, freezing water, creating icicles, hardening water into an almost rock-like state, using ocean currents to swim faster, and freezing the air around him; that's the extent of Jin's ability to control water and ice. For this, Jin needs a source of actual H20, he cannot use any other source of water, but while it has to be H20, it can be very dirty H20. He cannot control this power outside of 100 feet and while using this spell he cannot become cold or will his body freeze.
Earth Manipulation (Terrakinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Earth. The ground upon which we live, make our families, generations depend upon this. While a carbon copy of Terrakinesis, Jin is actually fairly decent in his ability to control the Earth element, able to form fissures, cause minor earthquakes within a range of 150 feet (that's his maximum range) and create sinkholes or spikes from the ground. Unfortunately for Jin's power, that's the strongest he can go.
Electricity Manipulation (Electrokinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Electricity. That which flows through us, giving us the ability to think and act. Jin's ability to manipulate electricity isn't terribly impressive, he can generate lightning from his body's own natural electrical impulses, even enhancing the power to create half the power of a true lightning strike from his hands or giving off a glow by surrounding his body in low-powered electrical energy (though he cannot be touched or the electricity will be expelled onto person touching, creating one hell of a static shock). While using this power Jin is unable to be harmed by electricity, though can act as a conductor and sadly might absorb too much electrical energy before becoming overloaded and passing out, which makes this one a double-edged sword, as he will absorb any electricity aimed at him, but too much will cause his body to fizzle, spell to break, and he will pass out. While Jin can create a stream of electricity from his fingertips, his most impressive ability is being able to redirect a lightning bolt from the sky into his body, charging it through his hands. It's the closest he can get to utilizing a strong lightning strike. If Jin is struck by water or submerged, his electricity will fizzle and the spell will break. Unlike other spells this one has no limit, but can only fully control the lightning he generates, any other source of lightning is mainly redirected, not controlled.
One a side note, Jin can combine spells, but only two at a time, if he combines both Electricity with Wind, he can achieve flight upwards of 60 miles per hour by riding the air currents with his electricity, directing the wind current to wherever he wants to go.
Advanced Elemental Control (3 of 5) Darkness Manipulation (Umbrakinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Darkness. The great equalizer, keeping us in check and shrouding us, the source of fear for many and life for some. Considerably more powerful than the other elements, mainly because Jin has spent long periods enhancing his dark spells. Though it is indeed a copy of Umbrakinesis, it is quite the impressive one at least in terms of kinetic elemental control. Jin is able to shroud the area within 200 feet in darkness, centralizing on a single point to allow the dome of shadow to move with him, and while this spell is active Jin can see in complete darkness with no light needed. Also, Jin can use shadows for attack, hardening them into a rock-like state to attack. Finally, Jin can turn himself into a living shadow, able to shift his body into different forms or weapons, even in light. Unfortunately, he is weakened by light, making him more susceptible to attacks, and while a shadow, he can still be harmed by physical attacks. On a final note, Jin can achieve flight of speeds up to 100 miles per hour while in shadow form, but his speed drops to 50 miles per hour if he is in direct sunlight.
Light Manipulation (Lumikinesis) - Mental manipulation of one of the seven elements: Light. Allowing us to grow crops, giving us warmth from above and lighting our path. Ironically, like with the Basic Elements, Jin can combine the two powers, making him controlling of both darkness and light at the same time. Jin is able to control light, dimming it, brightening it, using beams of light to attack with (they are like energy beams in that regard), extinguishing the source of a light (even an electrical one) or becoming a walking flashlight using light from his hands or illuminating his entire body. Though he can also do that with electricity, touching him gives no ill effects. He is also able to turn himself into a glowing being of light, able to teleport within a range of 1 mile instantly.
By combining both powers he can keep an area in perpetual darkness for long periods of time, even seemingly dimming out the sun (though it may appear that way, it is not the truth), which allows Jin to fly in shadow form at top speed in direct sunlight by filtering the light. Not the most impressive of elemental controls, but considering the wealth of powers he holds, he is a formidable opponent.
Dark/Unholy Magic (4 of 5) Mind Control - Jin is evil, though he may act for good or help people out, it's best not to fool yourself, he's got underhanded motives and is hardly a trusting ally, and Jin is nothing if not able to take perverse pleasure in manipulating others and obliterating enemies. Though each dark magic ability has some form of weakness, don't fool yourself: this is one of his most powerful spell lists, and he knows how to use them very effectively. Unfortunately, because of the wealth of magic he needs and the limitation of what he draws upon (which explains why he cannot combine his powers into a single list and use them all at will), that makes his dark magic taxing on him. However, on the plus side, using this Unholy magic will give him a truly pure evil aura, and give him slight changes to his appearances, which many mortals will find disturbing, even fear inducing.
The first Unholy power is mind control, breaking the target's free will and having them do whatever he bids. Because of the limitations, Jin can only control animals and weak-minded humans (such as Raiders), but Jin is so adapt with this line of magic he can control his enemy in combat with such accuracy and precision, that it more seems his enemy is fighting on their own will, rather than being controlled, especially when Jin is fighting as well. Yes, Jin is not limited to standing around during this power except in extreme cases. More often than not Jin implants suggestions, vague or specific, and the enemy (beast or human) will follow them, using their own logic to prevent the need for highly detailed instructions. Of course, sometimes he will need to be specific, as he will share a certain mind-link with his opponent, thus saying "Kill my enemies" may include the allies he's intending to back stab later. Though if he were to say "kill my group's enemies", that would be align to killing everyone trying to kill the group, regardless if Jin sees his allies as enemies or they see him as enemies.
Two rules: First, the controlled being will NEVER harm Jin, not intentionally unless the spell is broken. Secondly, they will never harm themselves intentionally.
When the spell is broken, his enemies will usually have a moment of confusion, they will have seen what was happening, but will usually be confused by it, sometimes hitting a feral rage afterwards, attacking anyone and everything around it. Also, it is important to note that animals, no matter their intellect, will be able to follow Jin's orders without question as Jin has a certain mind-link with them. Jin can only control one being at a time (this can be enhanced if his limitation is broken), but he can switch to a new being within seconds by breaking the link with the first, handy to keep multiple enemies at bay for long periods. Unfortunately, it is taxing, more than 3 beings within a half hour period will weaken Jin to the point he can barely walk, which is due to him calling upon magical energies, instead of having his own natural power. There is a limit of 100 feet to control a mind, but once a link is established there is no limit to where the controlled mind will go. Also, in an extreme case, Jin can take total control of the target with his own mind, which leaves his body susceptible to outside attack, and is best with a bodyguard. Though Jin will be able to feel and sense things around him, allowing him to leave the controlled mind and hop back in his quickly if he senses nearby danger. If the controlled mind dies, the mind-link ends with no damage to Jin.
Mind Shatter - Almost like Mind Control, this is limited to animals and weak minded humans, but is so much fun to perform by Jin's standards. Also, it can be combined with Mind Control. Establishing a link with the target in question allows Jin to read into their mind, allowing him to see what they are thinking (this can usually be done on higher minded targets but the shatter cannot be done, and usually high minded targets will feel something is wrong). The real fun comes from scrambling a person's thoughts so fast that he can break their mind, allowing him to use the confusion to travel deeper in their mind and break it, which is usually non-fatal but will leave the shattered mind comatose, but in a cruel twist they will still be able to feel and see (if eyes are opened), giving them a sometimes indefinite look around them. Some can come back from this, sleep can often reset their mind and restore order, as can psychics, but sometimes a person will panic so terribly they will give themselves a heart attack and be killed from it, sometimes the mind will completely shut down, though they can normally be brought back with the use of a psychic. However, Jin is not reserved to simply causing damage, he can also heal it, though to what extent has never been tested, Jin hasn't really ever healed a mind.
Energy/Stamina Drain - Usually non-lethal, this lets Jin drain the energy or stamina from a person, tiring them quickly and re-energizing himself. It works best on a calm person who does not suspect it, and will work on animals, but those who may have a lot of energy or stamina may find themselves siphoned, but usually able to stop Jin before he collects too much. There's not much to say about this ability, it's rather straightforward. Though the biggest limitation is distance: Jin must be touching a target.
Spontaneous Combustion - Cited as a combustion with no ignition source, oftentimes seemingly no cause, Jin is able to harness this into making explosions (small or large) within a range of 40 feet. The explosions can be little more than a firecracker, to the size of a stick of dynamite, allowing him to blow holes in walls or even a series of controlled, small explosions to knock a building down. He can also cause a person to explode without problem, though he's noted it seems more taxing on an organic life form, so he will usually cause an explosion around or underneath a person. The only real limitation is that it must be caused on something, such as the ground, wall, ceiling, etcetera, and cannot just cause an explosion in thin air.
Psionic Wounds - One of the more darker abilities, this allows Jin to cause severe, lethal wounds on a target without any source, often appearing as blade-like wounds, this can be done to a person's skin or their internal organs. Jin must use hand movements to simulate an attack, but it works within 100 feet and can be used quite successfully to slice off limbs. The biggest limitation is that Jin can only really cause up to 5 severe wounds (15 flesh wounds) within a half hour period because of his magical limitation, making it perfect to be used sporadically, though can be used to create fear in targets suddenly finding themselves with wounds with no external source.
Alchemy - Some don't believe Alchemy is a dark magic, but some believe it goes against God and nature by tampering with forces not meant to be by humans. As such, Jin has been able to use alchemy with dark magic. What this entails is quite varied, but is not effective for combat, at least not in the middle of it. Jin is able to create items, repair items, make items into something else, even use alchemy to create life (though he's never actually tried that, but knows he could and has noted no one has ever successfully created life from alchemy - he's evil, not stupid). Essentially Jin can form items from the ground, usually soil or cement, in the process of making an item he can turn the material into something else: soil to steel, for example. He can create anything with enough substance to mold it from, from guns and bullets to tanks and vehicles. He's limited by being unable to create liquid, food, or organic substances (except when attempting to transmutate a human life - which again, he's never done). The biggest limitation, and truly the most annoying for Alchemy period, is the fact he needs to draw an alchemic circle. The only good news is that he only needs one specific circle with minor modifications for whatever he does but does need to cover the size of the object, hence why it is unusable in combat. Repairing items is nearly the exact same process as creating items, only that the object to be repaired needs to be placed in the middle of the alchemic circle, that is the only true difference.
Transmutating items into something else is done in mostly the same way as the first two mentioned alchemic processes, one circle needed and usually an object, again he cannot create liquid, food, or organic substances. He can turn gold into copper, coal into gold, diamonds into rocks, and so on and so forth. This is hardly ever used unless attempting to make something with the materials, and even as a whole, Alchemy is hardly ever used by Jin just because of the limitations present.
The final ability is human transmutation, creating life. Jin has never tried this because of the stories involving alchemic backlash which can disfigure or kill the alchemist attempting it. Because of that, Jin isn't likely to attempt it anytime soon, not as long as his limitations on spells are present.
Note that this is the only list that Jin cannot fly or teleport with, yet.
Varied Magical Abilities (5 of 5) Magic Blasts - It should be noted that Jin's lists are self-made, these have been created with trial and error and usually are accomplished by taking spells and powers and combining them into a handy list to which is under the limitations. Hence why the elements are separated, otherwise he would have tried to control all 7 at once, though his attempts to do that had failed spectacularly, thus they are as they are. This final list of powers are general spells and powers Jin knows that did not fit in a specific category, as such they are sometimes random, but are more akin to general spells instead of elemental, spectral, or dark magic specific, hence why they are here.
The first in this series are magical energy blasts, or just magic blasts. These magical energy blasts are little more akin to energy blasts but weaker. As a matter-of-fact, these are very similar to "Supernatural Burst", except while Supernatural Burst relies on spectral energy, Magic Blasts rely on Jin's own magical energies, which can make them somewhat more powerful.
Telekinesis - Basic Telekinesis, allowing Jin to move objects with his mind, sort of. In all actuality, Jin must use hand movements to simulate moving objects. There is no limit to how far Jin can move objects, but he must be able to see them at the time of lifting, and any strong attacks or something which knocks him away will break the hold of the power. The limit on weight is somewhere around 1,200 lbs, and Jin can actually use this to lift himself into the air and fly at speeds of 40 miles per hour.
Teleportation - Similar to the power below (Dimensional Travel), but different at the same time. Teleportation is instant, it is unknown if this power is innate or something Jin has learned without the use of spells, but it doesn't appear he needs to mentally prep anything unlike everything else. There is no incantation, no hand gestures, just a teleportation. He cannot teleport while someone is holding him (there is one loophole to that) but can do it within less than a second during an attack. He must see where he is teleporting to, but aside from that there seems to be no limitation. Though it is interesting to note that Jin can only use his teleportation with this particular spell list, which makes it seem as though it too is a spell, but he can teleport so frequently and within a range of 3 miles that it's hard to tell. He can take a passenger, but must will them along with him, making the loophole that he wants them to go with him. Typically, he won't want anyone to go along with him if he's fighting, though for travel purposes he won't care either way.
Dimensional Travel - Unlike the above, this is indeed a spell, but allows him to travel across dimensions into an alternate universe. Though he cannot time travel with it, sometimes it does feel as such. Jin rarely uses this power unless to explore, there's no benefit from going to another dimension, and he cannot take anyone with him or bring anyone back, it's a solo-spell only, unlike teleportation. He can perform this spell twice a day (once to a new dimension and once back), and will always return to his home dimension during travel, thus being unable to dimension hop, and it must be noted it takes 10 minutes of incantation to use, making it a power used for fun, only.
Mystic Shield - Similar to an energy shield, this allows Jin to use magical energy to form a shield (which is a wall of energy, not a body covering barrier). Unlike some shields, this will protect against anything: bullets, melee, spells, elemental abilities, anything. The biggest downside is the shield cannot be moved and thus is affixed to the ground, and it requires Jin to remove the old shield before a new one can be propped up. He can make a shield to protect one person or stretch it out to protect multiple people, but he cannot make a shield beyond 15 feet. There is no limit to how many he can make in a day, but enough power will shatter it.
Molecular Rearranging (Clothing) - Simply used for clothing, Jin can end up changing his current clothes for something new. Unlike alchemy, it doesn't need to exchange out the same approximate size. For example: Jin can create a t-shirt from a trench coat, erasing the unused material from existence. In the same regard, he can create material from air and use it to change a tie into a pair of shoes, which allows him to change clothes. In the same regard, he can turn old clothes new by repairing them. Though this could easily have much more practical uses, it only works on clothing material such as cloth, silk, wool, leather, and so on. In the most embarrassing use, he could disintegrate clothing of an enemy, which could leave them exposed, but that would be the biggest extent of his powers, as he cannot disintegrate armor (unless it is leather).
Object Summoning - The ability to summon an object from anywhere in the world to his hands. This is a spell that requires a casting time of about 18 seconds and an incantation, the big problem with it (until the limitations are removed) is that he must have once possessed the item and it cannot be broken. Meaning, simply: he must have at one time held the object for a somewhat lengthy period of time, and it cannot be in pieces. (Theoretically he can summon the pieces of the object, but it seems impractical in most cases to do so.) In many forms, this power can be quite handy to summon a weapon to his hand, even if it is in the possession of another or currently held in the hands of another, and he can even dismiss the object back to where it came from. Jin needs no knowledge of where it is, just as long as he can picture it clearly in his mind during the summoning, he can get it to him. Most often used for books he's stashed away, but he has also used swords and firearms. Jin can make food appear, but he must not have eaten it. There is no distance, or limit on this power.
Bestial Summoning - This is wholly different from object summoning, but Jin has never been able to complete this spell or gotten it to work, as most summoning books he's read have been unclear with instructions, thus he must use trial-and-error or learn from another. Theoretically, this will allow Jin to summon a powerful beast to his aid, fighting for him and to the death. The beast will often recognize Jin as its master, and once summoned can be kept for indefinite amount of time, acting as a pet until killed or dismissed. The spell, once learned, will often take 30 seconds to cast, drawing upon power magic to do so, and can be used up to 3 times in a 24 hour period. Dismissing a beast is simple, a 2 second incantation and hand gesture and the beast will return from whence it came. The problem is, if a beast is dismissed, Jin can re-summon it, but it will have no knowledge of him. Though it doesn't truly matter as the beast will still recognize Jin as his master. Jin could theoretically summon a wide variety of beasts, some from another dimension who could be considered terrifying and huge, or small beasts like dogs or even raccoons.
Catastrophe Spell - This is the final spell in this list, and is arguably the most powerful spell. The Catastrophe Spell causes wide-spread chaos evoking Murphy's Law: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Within a range of 35 feet, machines will break, some may explode, ceiling beams may break and cause a collapse, guns will backfire or not even go off, explosives will be duds, tanks will stop moving, buildings may have a structural collapse, and there will generally be chaos. In the most impressive form, Jin can cast this at a single object, causing whatever it is to fail. Even swords may break from a single strike, and people are not immune. People could trip over a rock, they may sneeze during an attack, a bug could fly into their eye, or they may even urinate on themselves by accident. Though the power isn't usually fatal by itself (unless a ceiling beam hits someone or a building collapses on them), it does more or less make things easier for Jin. As one might imagine, Jin is immune to the spell, being the focal point for it, and as a result any objects on him or being held will also be immune. Jin could expand the focal point by 5 feet, allowing a small grounp to surround him as he casts the spell (4 second cast time) and allow them to become immune to the spell's effect as well. When this spell is cast upon multiple objects, each object will fail once (unless it is unaffected), making this spell a single use spell. It works once per object per cast, period.
In the most powerful incarnation of this spell, even weather may go horribly wrong if produced right. Though it cannot create something from nothing, meaning if there are clear skies Jin cannot cast it towards the clouds and cause storms, but if there is a storm it could be cast, causing tornadoes, hurricanes, severe weather and the like. Though, the spell isn't perfect, and the more reliable the hardware or equipment the more likely the spell will fizzle on the particular item, but even that isn't a guarantee to the failure. Jin has affectionate nicknamed this one the "Epic Fail Spell" because of the sheer amount of fun the spell is. Sometimes, for no reason, he'll cast it just for amusement.
Note that Jin will be able to add more powers to his lists and will eventually be able to combine every spell and rid of these limited lists as his limitations are lowered, powers relating to the Soul and Necromancy-based spells will also become usable. Jin is far from done with spell casting, he still has plenty to learn and will become quite fearsome as time moves on.
