Poem: Heartless Sea
Heartless Sea

"If only I could comepare to your beauty." To the sea, she once told. "You hold his heart though the heart of you is incomparably cold." Now she curses the sea who took her love and feels her heart so grieve, on the fate her love had suffered; the fate she'd sought to reprieve. "You've been taken from me." She speaks in whispers, not above. "I'd face the icy waters to be with you my love." She stands upon the edge of the cliff and looks to the waters crashing 'round, an echo so boldly mocking how her love had drown. The sun shines through the clouds and across the water, dances and her eyes a brim with wind swept tears she ponders on her chances. With sorrowful reproach she breaks the lasting bond. "I love you," she whispers now. "but I can't follow where you've gone."
