For Mr. Boyer's class, we made a commercial for our project on Thomas Jefferson. Tell me what you think of it!
Commercial Victoria - Thomas Jefferson Tasha- Reporter Tasha Kylie - Reporter K
Kylie - Hi, I’m Reporter K, here with the political debate section of our news. Today were talking about the Republican party with special guest Thomas Jefferson! Now we will go live to reporter Tasha and Thomas Jefferson.
Tasha - Thanks, Reporter K. Hi, I’m reporter Tasha and today we’re here to talk to the head of the Republican party, Thomas Jefferson! Hi, Mr. Jefferson!
Victoria - Hi, Tasha. How are you?
Tasha - I’m great! Now tell us a little about how you want the United States to be ran?
Victoria - Well, to start off, I think we need a strong state government. I think we need this because if we have a stronger federal government, they might get too much power and become a monarchy.
Tasha - Alright, now what are your views on the National Bank?
Victoria - I think we do NOT need a national bank. If we got a national bank it would give too much power to wealthy investors and to the government.
Tasha - Now, do you favor France or Brittan?
Victoria - France! We signed a treaty with them and we need to keep it. Besides, Brittan ruled us before we became our own government and I didn’t like how they wanted things run.
Tasha - How about agriculture or manufacturing? Which do you prefer?
Victoria - Well, I have to say agriculture because I grew up a farm boy. I’m a wealthy plantation owner, sure, but without agriculture, me - and a lot of other people - would be dirt poor. Our county wouldn’t have anything for itself. Agriculture all the way. 100%
Tasha - We only have time for one last question. So how do you think the constitution should be interpreted?
Victoria - We NEED a strong interpretation of the constitution because if we don’t, then it’s like we have no laws, and that wouldn’t be good. A lot of time was put into the constitution and we need to follow it. If something is unconstitutional, meaning it goes against the constitution, we should have it removed or cancelled. The constitution gives people rights, and it needs to be followed strictly.
Tasha - Yeah, right, right. Okay, well, that’s all the time we have today, join us tomorrow when we talk to Alexander Hamilton! Now back to you, Kylie.
Kylie - Thank you, Tasha. In tonight’s news, a girl gets her face ripped off by a monkey. Stay turned for full story. Weather is coming up next.
