Shiny Pages
Is it just me or are 99% of textbooks printed on glossy (shiny) pages? To me, this is counter to the point of a textbook

Shiny pages, by definition, reflect light. Specifically, the light of reading lamps, ceiling lamps, and the sun. All of which are essential for reading.

I know, the bookstores can charge more for textbooks (which they're already making a killing on, since textbooks don't have many substitutes) because they're "high quality," but is it REALLY high quality if the glossy pages are making them harder on my eyes to read?

Seriously; they're not even biodegradable.
