Closing up camp had been a lot harder than PQ could have imagined. She had known that she would have to deal with some bullshit, and that some campers would never change their ways, but she hadn't expected to make new friends. It was a surprise when she cooked for one of the many Mess Halls that she should find campers who didn't want to steal or stab. BSB at first had started as a shy camper, but as time went on....the girl started to stick up for herself. While PQ didn't consider BSB a 'pet project', the cyborg could not deny that she took the camper underneath her wing.
At first it had just been showing BSB how to cook, but then it evolved. PQ decided BSB needed a companion, so she gave the girl a small scottish terrier. Later on she bought the camper a jacket that matched her own. As camp neared its end, BSB was running the Mess Hall as if she owned the place. PQ wished she could have been there more, but her government job had most of her attention. After being promoted twice during the camping trip, there was a lot of paperwork to fill out and informational meetings to attend.
Pulling herself into the present, PQ set down her bag down on her bed with a heavy sigh of relief. It felt amazing to be back home; she didn't realize how much comfort the hum of electronics gave her when she was in Aekea. In the back of her head, the cyborg knew she should unpack her things, start doing some laundry, and get rid of the thin layer of dust that had nestled itself on some of her things. But her computer flickered to life underneath her metallic fingertips instead. There was an e-mail she wanted to look over again, as she hadn't had much time to really get a good look at it during the camp chaos.
The cyborg had been trying to get The Aekean Journal back up and running again, using it to the Mechanical Children's favor moreso than ever. But she mentioned in an advertisement that she was looking for businesses all over Gaia to write about. For the most part she received mail about small businesses without any riveting features, leaving PQ bored and without inspiration. But a message she had received from a Bartonian had caught her eye. Apparently there was a Bar and Grill nestled next to Barton Boutique that had picked up quite a fan base. Glancing over the message, she quickly opened up her internet browser and typed in the bar owner's name: Jayce Reinhardt. The results of that internet search took up most of her night, but only heightened her curiosity...
