I learned more about Mercy, and gave her a new friend. Yay! So here are the new developments. She's never performed necromancy on a human being. She's afraid to do it. She says it's different on a spiritual level with humans... they look so similar in shape to her that she can't help but imagine herself in their place. It seems that she's craving light... She sided with darkness for two reasons: 1. A dark voice has been semi-controlling her. Manipulating her. 2. She thinks that necromancers can't be viewed as light, only as darkness. There's a REASON why she's scared of affection! She loved her parents, and they left her alone. They wound up dying. She loved the nurse that cared for her, but when the nurse found out that she's a necromancer, she hated her and never looked at her again. Mercy is being taught how to get over the fear. Also, it's been suggested that her real name, given to her by her parents (the nurse named her Mercy) is Casimira.
Now for Marigold. Marigold is a little fox that has been with Mercy since Mercy was five years old, around the time her nurse left her. In some versions of Mercy's story, she resurrected Marigold specifically for combat. In others, the fox never died, but somehow she can talk, and can bite and slash harder than any three foxes combined. I'll be sure to figure out the backstory of the second Marigold soon!
