Over 600 Harry Potter fans flocked to one of two of the local theaters to see the newest installment to the Harry Potter films at midnight. I happened to be one of those 600 who stood in line awaiting to get into the doors of the theater that they had locked to keep people from sneaking in early. Was it worth waiting the extra time due to the pushing back of the release date? In my opinion, definitely.
I disliked Order of the Phoenix greatly. The beginning moved too fast, left out more crucial points than they should have, and the middle and end went by too slowly, leaving out even more crucial points and giving lines to the wrong characters. David Yates, the director of Order of the Phoenix and the Half Blood Prince bombed in movie five but redeems himself immensely with number six! The beginning shows our hormonal and moody hero eyes a lovely waitress only to be whisked off by Dumbledore to unknowingly recruit a new Potions professor, Horace Slughorn. The movie is rich in the love stories that are woven into the drama of the return of Lord Voldemort, and the movie hits nearly all of the crucial points of the book. Yes, like all movie adaptations there are things changed and left out, but despite this the movie follows the book far better than any of the other movies, except the first one. The movie is full of humourous bits, especially for those that have read the books, and there are sad bits as well. It has to be one of the best adaptations of one of J.K. Rowling's books that has been done.
