My brother is coming back from college this weekend! biggrin ! My mom was all, "So, lyk, James iz lyk cumin h0m3 on Saturday," and I was like, "FOR SERIOUS!?11~one!" And that's how I learned my brother was coming back from Kenyon College in Ohio to scarf down some turkey wif me and my other brother. crying It just brings a tear to your eye, don't it?
Anywho, he's all pumped up because he got trashed in the school newspaper. See, he wrote and submitted and article to the opinions column about how religion is getting too involved with politics ((and on a personal note, I agree)), and James said he took a fairly liberal point of view. The editor-in-chief, however, is a big conservatist, and hated the article so much that he wrote a response to James' article that took up a whole page of the paper ((roughly 4x the amount James took for his article)). He said the article began with something along the lines of,
"In all my years of being editor-in-chief of this paper, I have never seen such ignorant biggotry."
It goes on from there not only to trash my brother's opinion, but the guy made personal attacks on my brother. Now, I would be uber-pissed and ready to give this guy a piece of my mind; luckily, James is the same way. So, while he's home, he'll be having my parents help him type up an inflamatory response, and at the same time, wolf down some turkey and letmeplayfinalfantasytacticsonhisplaystation2plzkthx. sweatdrop
Meanwhile, I have a duet recital today at 3:30 with a girl named Abigail. She's alright, but she's a bit younger than me. I have to be patient, because she tends to take jokes a bit too far ((so that they're not funny anymore)) and also whenever she messes up blurts it out. I figure, if you mess up, pretend not to notice. If you really botch it, admit it and keep going. Don't sit there and describe your mistakes because it won't help you.
Other than that, she's a nice girl. She knows her stuff, which is good when it comes to duets ((though it took an extra practice or two)). The duet is called "Sheherezade," and I must say it's a bit below my level. However, when you're doing a duet with a younger person, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. So I'm just gonna deal. Besides, after the performance, no more silly duet practices!
Which would also mean that I can FINALLY go back to Youth Group! YG is every Wednesday from 5:00-6:00, and it's REALLY fun. However, because of the stupid duet, I have had to skip YG and go to Abigail's practice so we can work on the duet together ((which makes me angry)). I haven't been to YG in three weeks. Three weeks! Can you believe that!? Some new people even joined, and I wasn't there! It made me angry because some of the time Abigail didn't even know her part well enough and I would have to leave early anyways. But, enough about that. Let's move on to the good/odd stuff!
My weight has been going up and down lately, which I must say is a bit unnerving. Last week I was 128, this week I'm 120, and I don't think I lost 8 lbs in a week. My scale must be broken. Great, something else to worry about. xp I'll fix it later.
My babysitter ((yes, I still have a babysitter because there needs to be someone to let me in the house in the afternoon and take the dog out at lunch time)) is getting me 'Mean Girls' for Christmas, which I'm happy about. I never got to see it, so that's exciting. Oh! Spiderman 2 and Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban are coming out on DVD next week ((Tuesday and Wednesday in that order)). Lyk, omfglolz! I w4nt one!!~11!
*Cough* Ahem, yes, now that that's over...The Trimester ends next week, which means report cards should be coming in on Thursday or Friday ((AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)). If I did well on my Chapter 4 Mth test than I might be able to redeem myself in Math. For History, if he likes my 5 paragraph essay, than I should be fine...English is gonna be at least an A, I think. Spanish might be bumped down a bit by my grade on the last exam ((I don't think I did too well on it)). However, I had three other good exams, so no worries! Drama's a solid A, because Tim likes me and I got all the work in (('cept that critique, which I can definitely get in by Monday...)). Science...well, it really depends on the last test he gave us. Which reminds me...my friend and I both wrote "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" on the top of our tests because we're kind of obsessed with the song. My science teacher thought it was hilarious, and now calls all tests Boulevards of Broken Dreams. We might actually get extra credit for it, which I find hilarious ((I could use it; it was a hard test o_o')). Anywho, everyone who came out of that room said they'd failed. Unfortunately, my class was the first period to have to take it, so we were the lucky people who got no advice from any of our classmates. Sucks for us, neh?
In closing, it'll probably be a B report card, with a few scattered As. Math is still questionable, but my parents know I have problems in Math, so it won't be like a big thing if I'm not doing too well in it. Only problem is that if I don't do well on the Chapter 4 math test I have to give Mike ((my teacher)) a pumpkin pie! I can't believe I agreed to it. Evil math teacher. stare I mean honestly, when am I gonna need Algebraic equations to be an actress, a cartoonist, a singer, an athlete, or any of my dream jobs? Never, that's when. Yeah, fugger.
Also, I think I might like another guy other than Frank ((why do I always like more than one guy?! stressed )). He's funny, he's tall, he's kinda good looking, and he never gets angry. He's always smiling, and it makes me smile. Ugh, I'm gonna have to figure out this whole dating/love thing sometime soon, or I never will...-_-'
On top of that, I've been feeling very strange lately, and I can't really figure out why. All I know is it's pissing my friends off a great deal and consequentially making me miserable. One more problem for me to figure out, eh? Signing off,
