Listen, listen....
Beware. Once you cross the line will you ever see the other side?
And we all fall down
Ring around the rosy
Pockets full of posies
Ashes! Ashes!
We all fall down!

...Did you know that this song is actually after the small pox epidemic? People believed that if you had a pocket full of posies that it would ward off small pox. And the ashes we all fall down part is talking about how they would burn the bodies and then scatter the ashes after people had died from the disease. They did this so that way the disease couldn't affect a healthy person. It's strange how this is a children's song.

Don't believe me? It doesn't matter. Some people know this, some people don't. If you didn't know it was true do some research to see that it is.

It's war right now with my dog Flo. She's stolen my sock and won't give it back.

When I read the song, I could only hear this chilling deathly little small girl, pale white singing it softly.

    Freaked me out. xd

I heard that it was about the Black Death, not small pox. Ring around the rosy, are the blemishes that they would get on their skin. They had pockets full of posies so that the smell of the dead wouldn't get to them. Ashes, ashes was the sound that they made when they sneezed, and we all fall down, well I think you can guess that.

I heard that about it, maybe it was small pox instead, I don't know, but I do know they started singing it during medieval times.

Holy cow, I heard the girl too! Ah! Ear rape! Ear rape! gonk

However, back in a mood swing to serious mode, the song was originally for the Black Death, Black Plague, whatever you wanna call it. Medieval times. Zedrein's right; the rosies was the blemishes on their skin. A pocket full of posies would help keep you smelling healthy and ward off the stench of death. Ashes kinda sounds like Atchoo, and we all fall down. Deader than a cricket in a mantis's grip. gonk

What?! Flo has Mr. Socklop?! Nooooooooo~! Why must the good die young!? gonk
