Chapter 31
While Ryo and Chita were searching for Sentaro, they ran into the sadistic Immortal, Lazarus.
Lazarus: Haha, you think you can kill me, little girl? How cute.
Ryo: Chita, you gotta calm down. You can't just fight this guy recklessly. I hate to admit it, but we need to think of a way for the two of us to stop him.
Chita: *starts shooting multiple shots at Lazarus with her gun Kurokiba*
Lazarus: *laughs maniacally, takes out his axe Omega, blocks the shots* I love feisty girls who can fight!
Ryo: Chita, stop! I said don't attack this guy recklessly!
Chita: Die! *shoots once more*
Lazarus: Heh. *blocks the shot, the bullet ricochets off the axe and hits Ryo's left hand*
Ryo: AH! s**t! My hand, I got hit! *his left hand starts bleeding*
Chita: *gasps* Oh my goodness! Ryokamaru, are you okay?
Ryo: *winces* Ow, yea I'm fine.
Chita: Hold on, I'll fix this. *takes out a small pocket knife from her pocket*
Ryo: O_O; Uh, wh-what're you gonna do with that knife?
Chita: I gotta take out the bullet in your hand before I treat your wound. *takes Ryo's hand*
Ryo: Oh okay. Um..... shouldn't you numb my hand before you stick the knife in there?
Chita: No time. *sticks the knife in his wound, takes out the bullet*
Ryo: YEOW!!! That hurt like hell!!!
Chita: Quit being a baby. *rips off a bit of her coat, wraps it around his hand* Is that better?
Ryo: Y-Yea. Thanks, Chita-chan.
Chita: I'm sorry for not listening to you.
Ryo: Don't worry about it. Accidents happen. Now c'mon, let's go kick this guy's a**.
Chita: Yea.
Lazarus: You guys really want to get rid of me, huh? All right then, but why don't we make it more interesting? Let's play a game.
Ryo: What kind of game?
Lazarus: *chuckles* Just a little game of hide and seek. *snaps his fingers, opens up a dark portal*
Chita: What's that?
Lazarus: That, right there, is a doorway to where we will our game. An ancient labyrinth filled with flesh-eating monsters.
Chita: M-Monsters?
Ryo: So, how do we play?
Lazarus: It's quite simple, you will step into the portal and you will use whatever tracking skills you have to find me and defeat me in this never-ending maze.
Ryo: No problem, we'll win this game in no time.
Lazarus: Oh and there's a catch, only one person can play this game and once you walk through this portal, you can't leave until you find and kill me.
Ryo: What?!
Lazarus: Come on in, if you dare. *evil laughter, enters portal*
Chita: What're we gonna do? Only one person can play the game.
Ryo: I'll do it. I'll go in and stop him.
Chita: What? But, Ryoka-!
Ryo: Don't worry about me, you go meet up with Sentaro and find Kitty. I'll catch up with you guys soon, I promise. *starts heading towards the portal*
Chita: No Ryokamaru, I should be the one to face him. I hope you don't hate me for this. *hits Ryo in the back of the head with her gun*
Ryo: OW! *is knocked out* x_x
Chita: I'm sorry Ryokamaru, but I need to go in there and face my demons. Good bye, my dear friend, I'll never forget your kindness, and.... *tears stream down her face* I've always loved you. *enters the portal, the portal disappears*
An hour later....
Ryo: *wakes up* Ow, my head. What happened? *gets up slowly* Chita? *looks around* Where are you? O_O Oh no! She must've went through that crazy lumberjack's portal while I was outcold. I can't believe she did that. I can't believe I lost her. * bursts into tears* I can't believe I never got the chance to tell her how much I loved her. I'm such a screw up!
Evil Voice: *evil laughter*
Ryo: O_O Huh? What was that?
Evil Voice: Hehe, guess who?
Ryo: *takes out his scythe Irkalla* Who's there? Show yourself! I ain't afraid of you!
Evil Voice: Oh, really?
Ryo: Wait, that doesn't sound like that crazy lumberjack dude. That voice sounds like it's coming from.... my mind.
Evil Voice: That's right, little boy. *evil chuckle*
Ryo: Who are you? What do you want from me?
Evil Voice: *evil laughter continues*
Ryo: Get out of my head, freak voice! *runs blindly throught the woods* Get out, get out, get out, get out, get out!!! *trips on a branch and falls of a cliff* Oh no! *grabs a tree root* Phew, that was close. *root begins to break* Aw man! I'm so screwed! *root breaks* AHH!!! *someone grabs his hand* Huh? Am I dead? *looks up*
Elena: Ryo, are you all right?
Ryo: *stares at her chest* Whoa, looks like I'm in heaven. ^^
Elena: Let me help you up. *pulls Ryo up to safety*
Ryo: Whew, thanks Elena. You saved my life.
Elena: De nada.
Ryo: Huh? o.o
Elena: It means "you're welcome".
Ryo: Oh, I knew that.... So, how'd you know I was in danger?
Elena: Sentaro foresaw that you were going to be in danger, so I ran here as fast as I can, to save you.
Ryo: Sentaro's with you? Where is he?
Elena: He's back at the campsite. He's been getting these mysterious headaches and chestpains all day. I told him he'd feel better if he took a nap. All these weird things had been happening to him ever since he woke up from the hospital.
Ryo: Hospital? What happened to him?
Elena: It's a long story, I'll explain once we get back to the campsite.
Ryo: Well, all right. *they started walking towards the campsite* Maybe he can help me with this freaky voice.
Elena: Hey Ryo, do you sometimes get these weird feelings like you've forgotten something?
Ryo: Hm, not really.
Elena: Oh, guess it must've been my imagination. ^^;
Meanwhile...
Nero: *looks in an empty hospital room* Oh no! Oniichan and Elena-san must've left while I was napping in the waiting room. Darn it! >.<;
