HAY THERE.
I don't know if you know this, but I've (kind of) been trying to be more oldemo for a little while.
I say oldemo, because if I were to just say "emo", you'd be like, "Hey, Whiner McPoserface, get a REAL goal!"
Old emo. From the time of The Promise Ring.
AS SUCH:
It's probably because I've adhered to both a nerd and punk/emo status. Enough to call myself a punk-influenced nerd. Enough to draw on fake knuckle tats spelling out "NERD LIFE".
And possibly, just possibly, because I REALLY like that old emo music. At The Drive-In, Thursday, and Cap'n Jazz are high on my list of favorite artists.
And okay, maybe Thurday isn't old, but they've been the basis for many of today's bands.
Just after this summer, after reading Nothing Feels Good (GREAT BOOK! IF YOU'D LIKE TO BORROW IT, JUST ASK ME. biggrin ), I became more aware of this essentially extinct subculture.
I'm cuffing my pants, guys. smile
