before i start ranting about children's tv shows, i will tell all of you that i'm fourteen, and about to go into ninth grade. yesterday, while channel surfing, i came upon the Colbert Report (liberal tv, i'm sad to say) which i would normally pass up. but i stopped and paid attention because of the topic of the day. the host was ranting about sesame street. he was exceptionally angry at its producers because they had changed cookie monster into FRUIT MONSTER!!!! now, don't get me wrong, i love fruit, but cookies are way better. so, against my older brother's will, i went to PBS to see if this was true. just as i had feared, our beloved childhood icon had changed his whole direction. he kept the name, yes, but now his motto is that "cookie is sometime food, but fruits and veggies all time food". terrible, just terrible. also, you may know that they gave big bird the boot, because he was too paranoid. well, if junk food and unstable emotions are unacceptable, why in the world would they make a new cross dressing character!!!!??? you heard me! there is a male elephant on the show now that wears a too too and leotard!!! complete with frills and sequins.... what do you think?
