Hey guys! Sorry I didn't post a new chapter on Wednesday, was busy with other things. sweatdrop Well, here's the 21st chapter, enjoy, and remember to comment.
Heartbound Memories
Chapter 21
While Nero was chasing Chita and Luke, Kitty and Shouta were somewhere else, searching for him.
Kitty: Nero! Where are you???
Shouta: Looks like he isn't there.
Kitty: I guess not... *looks at Shouta* What are you thinking of, Shouta-kun?
Shouta: I was thinking of our new enemies.
Kitty: You mean the Immortals?
Shouta: *nods* We Slayers know of them. We consider them dangerous and a force against nature. They must be stopped.
Kitty: Hey, not all of them are dangerous. Some are good.
Shouta: I know that.
Kitty: Hmm... I've been thinking something Ryuna-senpai told me a long time ago.
Shouta: What did she say?
Kitty: She told me, that in this world there are many powerful creatures, but just because you're strong doesn't mean you're invicible. At first I didn't get it, but I think I do now. It means the Immortals must have some sort of weakness.
Shouta: Y'know, I was thinking the same thing. Heh, I guess great minds think alike.
Kitty: *laughs nervously* My mind isn't all that great. ^^;
Shouta: There must be some sort of ancient text that contains their secrets.
Kitty: You think so?
Shouta: Yea. If there is, it must contain some way to defeat them. *gets out his kitsune mask*
Kitty: What're you doing?
Shouta: I'm going back to my base, I'm going to see if I can find any information about them.
Kitty: You're coming back, aren't you?
Shouta: Of course. Are you gonna be all right on your own?
Kitty: Yea. Please be careful.
Shouta: I will. *kisses her forehead* I promise. See you later. *puts his mask on, runs off*
Kitty: O///O *blushes* Did he just kiss me? Could this be a start to something other than friendship? *shakes her head, snaps back to reality* This is getting silly. I better get back to looking for Nero-chan and Chita-neechan. *runs off*
Elsewhere, Sentaro, Bella and Edward were searching in another area.
Bella: Have you regained your powers yet?
Sentaro: It has been an hour, so not yet.
Bella: Oh.
Edward: Sentaro, what kind of attack was that? The one you unleashed on those phoenixes.
Sentaro: Oh..... well, that wasn't exactly an attack. I was losing control of my psychic powers.
Bella: What do you mean?
Sentaro: We psychics are supposed to remain staid. If we get in touch with our emotions, we lose control of our powers. We're extremely dangerous, and we could hurt the people around us.
Edward: So that's why you jumped.
Sentaro: Yea. I was mad at myself for letting something like that happen to Nero. *falls on his knees, punches the ground* I can't believe I let this happen!
Bella: *gets on her knees, hugs Sentaro* Don't worry, we'll search far and wide for him. I promise we'll find your brother, no matter what.
Sentaro: Thanks guys. *stands up*
Edward: Then let's go.
Sentaro: Right.
Bella: *stands up* Don't worry, Nero-chan, we're coming!
Suddenly, Edward sensed something.
Edward: Hm? *looks up*
Bella: What is it, Edward?
Edward: Looks like we have company.
Bella: Hm? *she and Sentaro look up and they see Eurydice up in a tree*
Eurydice: My my, all this searching for that furball is making me hungry. *smiles, her teeth glisten*
Bella: *gasps* She's got fangs too.
Edward: What do you want?
Eurydice: *jumps off, lands safetly* Sorry to drop by unexpected. I thought of going after some easy prey. *looks at Sentaro*
Sentaro: She knows I've lost my powers.
Eurydice: What? You're not going to fight me to protect yourself?
Sentaro: I trust you know who you face. Sentaro, psychic swordsman of the Nakamura clan. *takes out his giant blade Setsuka* If you're not worthy of fighting me, then you're only wasting my time.
Eurydice: I'm Eurydice Tisdale, Immortal of Lust, and right hand to this world's future god. Will that do? *takes out her bladed fan Atropos*
Sentaro: We'll see. I accept your challenge. *points his blade at Eurydice* At your ready.
Eurydice: *charges at Sentaro*
While Sentaro and Eurydice were fighting, Chita and Luke found the rogue werewolf. Their battle begun.
Luke: *transforms to a black wolf, snarls, starts attacking and biting the other wolf*
Chita: Luke, get out of the wasy. I'm gonna try blinding it... Hey, are you listening to me? HEY!
Luke: *not listening, continues attacking*
Chita: Ugh, stupid mutt.
Nero: *runs to a bush, transforms to his human form, jumps out* Chita! Luke!
Chita: What the-?! Nero, what the hell are you doing here?
Nero: You've gotta stop fighting it! The reason that werewolf won't die when you shoot it, is because he's an Immortal.
Chita: A what?
Nero: Something that can't die.
The wolf pushed Luke out of the way and started charging towards Chita and Nero.
Chita: Get behind me, kid. *points her gun Kurokiba in the wolf's direction*
Nero: *whimpers, goes behind Chita*
Suddenly, from out of nowhere, huge fire blasts were shot in front of the wolf, blocking its path. It ran away.
Chita: What the heck? Where did that come from?
A familiar face came out of the shadows.
Ryo: And the world's a better place, thanks to thief prodigy Ryo Hibiki. *sees Chita* Hey Chita-chan, its been a while.
Nero: Ryo-san, you saved us!
Chita: Ry-Ryo-Ryokamaru-kun?
