I've been searching throughout the web conerning the lengend of a certain wolf; "The wolf of gubbio". It's an italian old legend of a sait making peace with a ferouscious wolf about the outskirts of the city. In various sites that appeared to me, some were exactly the same as the next and other told a different account.
In an illustration in the actual city of Gubbio, there is a description of a memorium of the legen dof the wolf and the saint. It analysed the artpiece and told that the wolf didn't need taming but in actuallity the people of Gubbio needed to be tamed. Well, here are the exact words of the website...
"Notice that it was the people of Gubbio, rather than their wolf, by and large, who needed taming: and for a while, no doubt, St. Francis succeeded."
I found about the legend through a wolf book I've owned for some time. In the wolf book, I became attached to an appeling painting of a wolf in a town square. Surprisingly the wolf has a holy to illustrate a certain holyness from this being. Again, the painting is called "The wolf of Gubbio" by Luc-Olivier Merson.
It is interesting how things may lead us towards different ends. Anyhow, my search didn't found any books based on this legend. I may myself write a novel based on it with the certain elements Herman Hesse uses about his novels. It will be so much fun. I should have this written in a book instead in my journal. A book full of my own ideas and projects, how fun shalt it be!
