wow! there's a little Dostoyevsky there, isn't it?
I think you're really good. The narrator sounds serious but somehow warm, its very descriptive but not too much, you do let the reader be free to imagine the scene.

I can't wait for 16th! x]
I think this could be one of my favourite books ;D

wow...that was really cool. i could envision every action in my mind. this might sound strange, but the purple background added to the story. i could imagine everything, but the sky was a deep purple, it was awesome. youre a great writer. cant wait till i read the next chapter. biggrin
