A Dying Nation (Poem) written by clay6618(nowClay66182)
The government is helping But not where we need it most We're fighting for the world But what about our own Gulf Coast
They say we're the strongest Of all the world powers But that didn't stop a third world country From taking out our Twin Towers
Half a world away We march through the Iraqi heat I guess they forgot about Our people dying on the street
The way our government Solves problems is insane Their big action againts terrorism Is "no water bottles on a plane"
Why do the lives Of the famous keep thriving When just a few miles away There are people barely survivning
These fast food industries Never seem to cease But they can't figure out why Two thirds of our nation is obese?
We're always wasting gas So it shouldn't be surprising That after a 500 mile stock car race Prices at the pump keep rising
For over a century We've had a problem with pollution If we can clone a sheep There should be a sollution
Everyday new factories And plants are swarming I hope they're building some That'll prevent global warming
It seems like as govenor Arnold has some new desires But not even Mr. Olympia Can prevent California's wildfires
There are advances in medicine But don't speak to soon There's no cure for cancer But we can walk on the moon
The school board always says That school is the safest place to be Just tell that to the parents Of a little Christian girl named Cassie
Our government has no problem With wasting a million bucks And that's just another reason Why this country sucks
Our nation's failure Has to be put on the spot We need to work on what's important And forget about what's not
Through every war, every death And all the devastation United we stand A crippled dying nation
