The ever lasting dream
I wonder if when we die,
Do we hold an ever lasting dream?
Could we all merely be dreams,
Of lives that are no more?
I wonder if when we dream,
Are we slowly slipping into the dark abyss?
That cold feeling that overwhelms us,
That takes us as its prisoners,
Slater’s us in our sleep.
Yet we know nothing of it,
We are blind to its touches.
Is it all merely an ever lasting dream?
A dream that we can never awake from,
A dream we can never make true.
We sit their momentarily,
Letting our so called lives pass us by
We do as were told,
No questions asked
But were does all this lead too?
No where but to our ever lasting dream.
We each hold the dream sacred,
We keep it close to our heart,
We listen as it beats softly,
Then slowly yet surely,
As it falls apart
And what if our dream is invaded?
What happens then?
Do we all just wake up,
And let it all happen again?
In this ever lasting dream,
The land of the dark abyss,
Home of the beasts of within
Our savior and our maker
They are both our creator
Do they hold the key,
The key that opens our dreams?
Are mind,
What is it?
Is it merely a cloud of air?
Does it float above us,
Beyond,
And behind us?
It wonders to the past,
It fears the future
Is it what makes our dreams real?
Is our mind what gives it air?
What lets it breath,
What lets us dream?
I wish to hold my dream,
Clutch it in my hands tightly
Can it break?
Can I break it?
Must I be gentle to it,
If it is mine for the taking?
Is it mine?
Is it yours?
This everlasting dream,
Of which no one can see.
No one can see our ever lasting dreams,
So why can’t we just let them be
Why can’t we let them float above our heads?
Why can’t we let them go crazy if we want them too?
Let them send us to the deep depths of the Atlantic,
To the warm sands of Palm Beach
Let us never to awaken,
Let us all just sleep
After all,
It is are eternity
Our ever lasting dream,
The one we can never awake from,
The one we may live in,
The one we can never live in
The one we can keep
And make it our own
Our ever lasting dream,
That is for only our eyes too see.
