Radix Demulcta III: The Chronicles
The story of Prince Radix Demulcta III and his associates. A Vampire, a fox, a friend, an enemy, a lover, and a warrior.
Concerning Radix....
Excerpt from "Blue, The Last of the Dragonkin"* - Chapter 12;

There was a great Crusade in which Blue Elec was involved. He still fought for the sake of fighting and was impressed when he crossed blades with a powerful vampire known as Camthallion. In the matching of strength, wit and skill there was formed a mutual admiration and respect, a powerful alliance was forged in that battle, an alliance which lasted beyond the Crusade itself.

*See next journal entry.

Excerpt from "The Rise of Vampire Lords" - Chapter 29: Radix Demulcta III;

At the time of the 2nd Vampyre Crusade, Radix Demulcta the Third was born human to a wealthy Nobleman and one of his beautiful Entourage. The boy, being the child of a dancing girl, rather than a Queen, was cast onto the streets and beaten frequently by peers, and stoned half to death by elders. During a small battle between the vampyre forces - led by Camthallion - and the Human township, Radix escaped into the countryside on a young horse, having stolen his fathers sword. No other human survived.

The boy grew into a young man, and had learned to live by the sword and dagger, when he was sought out by Aranel Palantir - the first of the Ancient Vampyres. Knowing his time on this earth was nearly up, Aranel turned Radix in a seemingly random vampyre attack, but secretly imbued the man with a latent part of his powerful soul. Just as every other vampyre did, Radix drowned himself in the vampyre community and culture, and lived through many battles for their cause. The ancient vampyres withdrew from the world hereafter.

Excerpt from "Blue, The Last of the Dragonkin" - Chapter 13;

In the years that followed [The Crusade] Blue worked closely with Cam and a vampiress called Sophia, forming the organisation known as "Shepherd". Blue was heavily involved in their campaigns and became a readily noticeable figure in many vampiric circles. Blue first met Radix Demulcta in this time. The young vampire had not been long in this world and had already caught the eye of Shepherd. The depraved trio kidnapped Radix and tattooed a prophesy of Blue's on to his back, a prophecy that ultimately turned out to be false.

Excerpt from The lost annals of The Labella Oscuridad Vampaneze (See bestiary);

As 'Shepherd' continued their rightious action, political relations between the Vampaneze Rebels and the Nicnivian Loyalists deteriorated. With the disappearance of Maedhros [Blue], Radix Demulcta took up a prominent role in the political leadership of the Loyalist side. Then commenced the vampyre civil war. Radix and Camthallion clashed a few times - and many lives were lost - before Maedhros returned in the middle of the war. Betraying the the Noble Camthallion, Maedhros attempted to kill the Vampaneze leader. Camthallion won the fight, causing Maedhros to flee and not be seen again by the Labella Obscuridad House. Although Radix and his forces eventually won the Civil War, and exiled all Vampaneze, Camthallion quested to massacre the remaining Ancient Vampires. To this end, he succeeded.

Excerpt from "The Rise of Vampire Lords" - Chapter 29: Radix Demulcta III (Cont.);

After his heroic deeds in the vampyric Civil war, Radix had attained the title of 29th Underlord in the vampyre community, and was voted Prince by the council. (See appendix B - Vampyre Hierarchy)
With the other Princes more than strong enough to watch over the people, Radix left his high seat to travel the world. Unstable as the vampyre community was at this time, we begin to see a breakdown in it's structure. [End of chapter]

A Translated Excerpt from the "Vampiri Asiana" - Chapter 41

We see the Vampiri Radix arrive in eastern and european folklore at this time. After leaving the community of Vampiri, he travels to India. There is a legend of a pale skinned warrior who defeated a nest of 'mountain demons' meaning orcs here, for the local population of Humans. The people in return gave him animal blood, and beautiful women as servants - hailing the Vampiri as a deity. Deeper study of the legend reveals depictions of key artifacts that clearly symbolise Vampiri Royalty, including Radix's own seal.

Other legends that indicate the Vampiri Radix's presence can be found in Nepalese and Burmese lore - Though both share tbe common theme of a ghostly white man, coming out at night to drink human blood. There is even evidence to suggest his travelling through China, Japan and Mongolia.

Excerpt from "Of Werewolves and Vampires; Memoirs of Warren Zevon" - Part 3, Chapter 1;

It was then that I befriended a Vampire by the name of Radix Demulcta. My compainions and I were in Schlisselburg, Russia - some sixty kilometres from St. Petersburg on the left bank of the Neva River. It was my understanding that vampires were wholly dark, but this one was not. He was running from the organisation 'Shepherd', whom I, too, had encountered previously. Taking him in, he educated us on the way of Vampires, and their lore. He taught us that there was a house of purebred Vampires, and a house of evil, rebellious Vampires that engaged in Civil war over a century ago. 'Shepherd', the vampire explained, were instrumental in the cause of the civil dispute.

After Radix proved himself as a worthy ally in the battle of the bridge, we re-located to Moscow, and there we came across another vampire - A Female called Sophia. Identifying herself as having abandoned 'Shepherd', and wishing to join our cause, we took her in also. Sophia and Radix spent much time conversing alone, in dark rooms. After months of Travel, their relationship developed into what seemed love. Radix was weakened by her, and she fell pregnant with his child.

We were ambushed a week later as we crossed the border from Bulgaria into Romania, by the 'Shepherd' forces. The vampire Radix killed many, but Sophia betrayed him, and left with the 'Shepherd' leader, Camthallion. She hoped that Radix's child would grow into a powerful warrior for Camthallion to use in campaigns. With a heavy loss of life, we managed to carry the unconscious vampire over the border, but we were attacked again days later, and had to flee without him.

(cont from page 1) the history books earlier today. The crypt was found empty by grave-digger Andrei Ionesco at 2am this morning. "That crypt has been sealed for over thirty years." Comments Andrei. "There were never any inscriptions though...no flowers or anything. It would take more than one man to open those doors." The Police still do not wish to comment on the two girls found dead in mysterious circumstances that same morning. "The two incidents are completely un-related cases of Grave-robbing, and Homocide, I assure you." Is all the Comissioner had to say.
