Unbroken
As deep as the heart
but shallow as the skin
as far as tomorrow
but as close as today
forever unfeeling,
always feeling the same
all the unwritten words
remain carved in my skin
Always hidden with a smile
always found with a sneer
then pain comes forth,
with tears down my cheek
and blood down my arm
the anger and hurt are on the rise
only with blood does it subside.
As deep as the heart
yet as shallow as the skin
i find relief
i find no pain.
Bliss is near,
as close as today
or as far as tomorrow.
It is tomorrow i fear,
yesterday i am ashamed of
with the now, my pain has lessen
enough to allow me peace tonight
the cycle remains unbroken
tonight i cut.
