Yep. I came home this afternoon and my mom brought home some granite examples from her work. (She manages a bunch of granite companies and keeps them from exploding) The one I liked best was called "Verde Butterfly" and it's very pretty. It has green (duh) and black and silver in it and the silvery green fragments look as if butterfly wings really were trapped inside the rock. Mama told me it was a bit more expensive than the other stuff though. Anyways, thinking about butterflies trapped in rocks, I started thinking, "I wanna draw something with a butterfly in it." So off we go to the internet to find a picture of a butterfly to learn how to draw one. This was what I looked at to figure out how to draw one. Now the butterfly I drew (which you'll see in a moment) doesn't look as real or as pretty and I made up my own pattern to put on the wings (which makes it look more unreal) but it's probably the best butterfly I've drawn. And the first time I've seriously tried to draw one. All in all, I can't draw identical wings. But I'll work on that. Then I drew a girl behind the butterfly (Probably should have drawn the girl FIRST, but I managed. And I really wanted to draw the butterfly DX) And since I shaded the butterfly with my special-y pencils I thought, "Hey! Let's do what I did in art class and make it look more real-ish." So I did. And although I don't have a great grasp on how to shade, I think it turned out pretty nice. Lots better than my regular drawings. And here is my final product, in all it's beginnerness. (It is too a word. To me. Means "not all that great 'cause I haven't practiced much, but whatever." wink Now here goes my pointing out all of everything I see wrong with it: 1]There's that smudge like under her eye. I didn't really mean to smude it that dark, but I was afraid to erase anything since I might make it worse. 2]The butterfly looks off and is not symmetrical 3]My scanner made little white lines go across (down, since I drew it landscape) it. 4]Her ear isn't very accurate, I was just like, "Whatever, throw some lines in there and shade, done." 5]She looks more surprised than I want her to look. (I wanted her to look calm, darnit DX) Something right: She actually looks kinda nice, or at least better than my other stuff if I say so myself.
And sorry Sarah, I didn't get to your avatar art because I spent my time trying to draw butterflies D: I is so sowwie ;3;
NOW ONTO TODAY'S WHATEVER. My arm still hurts from yesterday's shot. Nurse lady got my muscle, so says my family. It's my right, so it's kinda hard to move it out, reach for stuff, or lay on it. (I had trouble sleeping last night because of it.) I'm kinda bored. Drawing can only occupy my time for so long (above took maybe more than an hour.) so.... I'm thinking I'll go to bed early. Or something. Oh yah, I got that show "Extras" from my spanish teacher today. She gave me the website that streamed it this Friday and last Friday. I might go watch it. I really like it xD Jeez, I need something to do, huh? I ate lunch on the cafeteria steps today. Penny needed her iphone charged and the only plug was in a brick column on the 5 steps down into the food court. (Yes, like at the mall. We have Java City, Asain 2 Go, Pizza Hut, Main Couse, The Grill, The Deli, and The Tortilla, baisically any food you could ever want) so we sat there and ate while her phone charged. We got many a strange look from students, teachers, and policemen but none came up to us to tell us to go sit at our seats. >w<;
So all in all TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY. Even thought it could've been the worst day ever for several reasons, it doesn't matter becuase I made up my mind this morning to make it a good day. This might just be the longest journal I've made in a while.
If you're just now skipping to these last sentences, GO BACK AND READ IT ALL. Sheesh, don't be lazy D;
Night!
